Craig Peterson Named Director of Abrons Arts Center

Henry Street Settlement has named Craig Peterson as Artistic Director and Deputy Program Officer for the Abrons Arts Center/Visual and Performing Arts division. Peterson will assume his duties on September 6, 2016.

New York, NY, August 8, 2016 – The GrahamDeconstructed series brings audiences behind the scenes for an intimate view of Martha Graham's masterworks. On September 13 and 14, the Martha Graham Dance Company will present a rehearsal showing of Dark Meadow Suite, an arrangement of highlights from Dark Meadow (1946).

David Bowie's LAZARUS Coming To West End In October with Michael C. Hall & More

David Bowie and Enda Walsh's LAZARUS, which premiered at New York Theatre Workshop last year, is coming to King's Cross Theatre for a run 25 October-22 January 2017. It's directed by Ivo van Hove, and several cast members from the New York production are reprising their roles: Michael C Hall, Michael Esper and Sophia Anne Caruso. Full casting to be announced.

Martha Graham Dance Company Sets 2016-17 Season

The Martha Graham Dance Company is pleased to announce its 2016–17 season. The Company's tour kicks off in August and includes performances in 12 cities across the U.S., a performance residency in Madrid, and a weeklong engagement in Cuba, where the Company will perform as part of the renowned Havana International Ballet Festival. The Company's New York season will take place at the Joyce Theater in February 2017. The season also includes six events as part of the Company's popular Graham Studio Series, which offers audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the Company at work in the intimate setting of the Martha Graham Studio Theater.

?This July, The New Victory Theater will present its third season of Victory Dance, the theater's initiative to provide FREE dance performances to kids in New York City day camps, school and youth programs over the summer. A three-week-long series presented from July 13 - 29, 2016, Victory Dance features a cross-section of highly accomplished and internationally recognized New York companies who perform a range of movement styles from lyrical, to tap, to anime-inspired dance, and share in the theater's goal of inspiring young people to embrace the art form.

Artistic Director Braden Abraham today announced Seattle Repertory Theatre's 2016-2017 Season. The season is headlined by the electrifying musical Here Lies Love from David Byrne (Talking Heads) and Fatboy Slim, a new production ofthe award-winning Broadway smash King Charles III, and the timeless classic A Raisin in the Sun. The 2016 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award, a prestigious honor that carries a $25,000 cash prize, will be presented to contemporary choreographer, dancer, and artistic director Camille A. Brown in acknowledgement of her vision and outstanding contributions to the dance field. Regularly garnering acclaim for her 'vividness and versatility' (Alastair Macaulay, The New York Times), Brown holds a New York Dance and Performance ('Bessie') Award, two Princess Grace Awards, a Doris Duke Performing Artist Award, and her work has toured nationally and internationally. The Jacob's Pillow Dance Award was established in 2007 and, in honor of its 10th anniversary, the Pillow has broadened the scope of this honor with a commitment to the artist's growth and future work. In addition to the unrestricted cash prize, this Award also includes a committed engagement for the 2017 Festival and a Creative Development Residency at Jacob's Pillow. Previous recipients of the Jacob's Pillow Dance Award include the legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham; MacArthur Fellows Michelle Dorrance and Kyle Abraham; and John Heginbotham of Dance Heginbotham, among others.

Jacob's Pillow to Bring Dance to the Berkshires This Winter
