The Tony Award-winning actor-singer-dancer Ben Vereen, who has appeared in numerous shows on Broadway and in his own one-man shows around the country, will be honored, along with 17 others, at the 29th Annual Bistro Awards gala, which recognizes outstanding achievement in New York cabaret, jazz, and comedy. The celebration will take place on Tuesday, March 4 at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd St. (between 7th & 8th avenues).

Broadway notable and popular screen personality Anita Gillette joins a starry cast of performers including David Cryer, John Cudia, William Michals and Kimilee Bryant for a special concert preview presentation of the new musical MIRACOLO coming up later this month according to a new announcement.

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre continues its 44th season with Dr. Du Bois and Miss Ovington starring Kathleen Chalfant and Timothy Simonson. Gabrielle L. Kurlander directs. Performances begin January 16h, with opening night scheduled for January 30th.

The musical comedy about nightclub singers and night-time musical fantasies - Humpty Dumpty Cracks Up: The Nightmare of Cabaret --- will be performed in Manhattan on November 23, 24, and 25. Today, we're featuring Anita Gillette, circa 1981. Gillette may be most recognizable as Tina Fey's mom on 30 ROCK or as Mona, the mistress in Moonstruck. She is a Broadway veteran with 14 Broadway shows to her credit, including Chapter Two (Tony Nomination), Cabaret, Carnival, Gypsy, Guys & Dolls, Don't Drink The Water, Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Showboat. Off-Broadway and Regional credits include The Big Meal (Lortel Nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress), Love, Loss & What I Wore, The Seagull, Shirley Valentine, My Fair Lady, The Winslow Boy, Irene, South Pacific, Sweet Bird Of Youth, The Great Waltz (recorded for RCA), and Knickerbocker Holiday.

Kimilee, Jarlath, and Emilio have been working on this piece for over two years and Jarlath and Emilio for even longer. It takes an awful lot to get a show produced, especially in NYC! Previously known as Salute a Tutti which means 'Health to all' certainly does represent the story, however, in working on the piece, we decided on Miracolo . The story takes place on an island called 'Miracolo' where, at a beautiful spa many miracles take place (including true love) and also in Roma in a hospital and surrounding piazzas where miracles can also happen.
