INTO THE WOODS, AVENUE Q and More Set for Mercury Theater Chicago's 2014 Season

Executive Director Walter Stearns announces a new season at Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N. Southport Avenue, including Into the Woods, Avenue Q, The Addams Family - The Musical and The Christmas Schooner. As the season opener, Mercury Theater Chicago presents The Hypocrites Theater Company in a revolutionary staging of the Sondheim storybook musical Into the Woods. This is followed by the professional Chicago premiere of Avenue Q - a coming of age musical in the style of an adult "Sesame Street." Just in time for Halloween, The Addams Family - the Musical will haunt the Mercury Theater stage. The season finale is the return voyage of the Chicago holiday tradition, The Christmas Schooner. Single tickets are available starting at $29, and 4 show subscription packages start as low as $100. Season packages and Into the Woods tickets go on sale December 8th.

BIG FISH Enters Final Three Weeks of Performances on Broadway

Broadway's new musical BIG FISH will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013. This is your last chance to see two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Catch Me If You Can), Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin (Giant, Finian's Rainbow) and Bobby Steggert (Giant, Ragtime) onstage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street).

92Y to Host Evening with Cast of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, 1/5

92Y presents an evening with the stars and director behind the new Broadway musical The Bridges of Madison County, on Sunday, January 5 at 7:30 pm. Four-time Tony Award-nominee Kelli O'Hara (Francesca) and Steven Pasquale (Robert Kincaid) join Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher for a conversation moderated by Tony Award winning composer/lyricist Adam Guettel. The evening will also include a few performances of songs from the show.

Sierra Boggess to Bring AWAKENING to Feinstein's at the Nikko, 1/18

Lippa participated in a talk-back following the Boston area premiere of his show A Little Princess at the Strand Theatre. Jared Bowen, Executive Arts Editor of WGBH Boston hosted the talkback (center), and was joined by Meg Fofonoff, Producing Artistic Director of Fiddlehead Theatre Company (left). Lippa also wrote the music and lyrics for 'Big Fish' and the Tony award winning show, 'The Addams Family'.

The Broadway musical Big Fish will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013, but the show will have a life after its run at the Neil Simon Theatre. A 92Y representative confirmed that, Susan Stroman, who was a panelist at last night's 'From Book to Screen: Big Fish- A Conversation with the Creative Team' at the 92Y, revealed that an original cast album is on the way. Additional details have not yet been announced.
