Broadwayworld Cleveland's Roy Berko recognizes each year local theaters, performances, writers, performers and technicians of plays staged by area professional theaters during the January 1-December 31 year. 

Cleveland Public Theatre has announced the Test Flight 2023 series. Test Flight is a multi-week series that showcases new work on its way to full production, providing both local and national artists with the keys to the theatre and the opportunity to co-produce original work-in-progress.

Cleveland Public Theatre presents 10 Minutes to Midnight: 9 Quirky Plays for the Holidays. This World Premiere production is onstage from December 2 through December 18 at CPT’s historic Gordon Square Theatre.

On November 22, 2014, twelve-year-old Tamir Rice was shot at close range by police officer Timothy Loehmann outside the Cudell Recreation Center on Cleveland's near west side. Tamir died the next day.
