Lexington, KY—The University Press of Kentucky is pleased to welcome Leila Salisbury as its new press director, becoming only the fourth in the press's sixty-eight year history. Salisbury comes to UPK from the University Press of Mississippi, where she has served as director since 2008.

Lexington, KY—The University Press of Kentucky is pleased to announce that Leila Salisbury has been named press director, becoming only the fourth in the press's sixty-seven year history. Salisbury is the current director of the University Press of Mississippi, a position she has held since 2008. She will take over leadership of UPK on August 1.

Off-Broadway's The New Group will honor Ed Harris & Amy Madigan and Ellen Roth at the company's Annual Gala on Monday, March 7 at Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses Street between Hudson & Greenwich). Hosted by Mario Cantone, the event will feature performances by Jerry Dixon and Nat and Alex Wolff, and an appearance by playwright Beth Henley, author of Crimes of the Heart and The Jacksonian. Music Director is Sinai Tabak. The evening, 6:00-10:00pm, includes cocktails, dinner, and silent and live auctions.

The New Group has announced three productions for its 2015-2016 Season. The company's new season kicks off in Summer 2015 with the Off-Broadway premiere of Philip Ridley's Mercury Fur, directed by Scott Elliott. The season continues in Fall 2015 with the world premiere of Mark Gerrard's Steve, with director Cynthia Nixon returning to The New Group, where she made her directorial debut earlier this year. In Winter 2016, Scott Elliott directs Sam Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Buried Child, featuring Ed Harris and Amy Madigan, who return to The New Group with this production.

Playing on Air, a public radio show featuring recordings of select contemporary short American plays, returns to BRIC House for a new season of performances. Nine short plays by notable American playwrights (three per evening) will be recorded live at BRIC House, 647 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn on October 20, 27 and December 1 at 7:30pm.

The New Group launches its 2013-2014 season with the New York premiere of the Geffen Playhouse production of The Jacksonian, by Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley. Directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls, this production features Ed Harris, Glenne Headly, Amy Madigan, Bill Pullman and Juliet Brett. Book lovers are proud of their sagging bookshelves. A lot of time, effort, and eyestrain goes into building a personal collection, but traveling with your favorites often means overstuffed carry-on bags and backpacks. Many readers would like to have electronic copies of their favorite books, but are reluctant to spend more money on something they already own.
