The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the Coolidge Corner Theatre have announced the 2022 National Evening of Science on Screen®, coming to cinemas across the nation on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. That evening, participating organizations will use one of the nation’s favorite pastimes—going to the movies—to promote public understanding of science.

Due to exceptional demand, Second Half Productions have today released an extra 18,000 tickets for their inaugural production of The Glass Menagerie including seats for sold out performances and an extra performance on Monday 6 June at 7.30pm.

The thing about Lindsay Joelle’s Trayf, now playing at the Geffen Playhouse, is that it has really excellent dialogue. In every sense of the word. Actor/playwright Steve Trzaska world premiere’s his CAMP GINGER for two Saturdays beginning February 26, 2022, at the Little Theater at the Actors Company. Directed by Joy Mamey, CAMP GINGER tells the semi-autobiographical experiences of Steve in summer for other red-headed kids. I had the chance to quiz Steve on his origins of CAMP GINGER.

Disney+ has ordered 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians,' an epic adventure series based on—and closely aligned with—Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series by award-winning author Rick Riordan, will will write with Jon Steinberg (“Black Sails,” FX’s upcoming “The Old Man”) with James Bobin (“Dora and the Lost City of Gold”) directing.

With the new year just around the corner, many take time during the holiday season to reflect upon this past year as it comes to a close. Although 2021 has been challenging, it becomes clear that there is so much to be grateful for from vaccines to new movie musicals. While Broadway theaters began to open their doors, several streaming services opened their platforms to producing movie musicals. Unlike most years where few if any Broadway musicals were adapted into movies, 2021 was a year like no other with over ten musicals being created for the screen or being adapted from the stage to the screen. Leading theatre director, Jonathan Church CBE, has announced the appointment of Becky Barber as Executive Producer at Jonathan Church Theatre Productions (JCTP) – part of Trafalgar Entertainment. Becky will join the company on 17 January 2022 as the successor to Georgia Gatti.
