The 2015-16 Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Broadway Musical Concert Series at Rubicon Theatre Company concludes with a concert presentation of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG.

The Royal Academy of Dance's (RAD) prestigious Genee International Ballet Competition returns to Australia in 2016 with the final to be held at the Sydney Opera House on 11 December 2016. As the annual flagship event of the Royal Academy of Dance, the competition attracts the world's finest young dancers aged between 15 to 19 years old and culminates in a final to be judged by David McAllister, Artistic Director of The Australian Ballet, Kevin O'Hare, Director of The Royal Ballet, and Francesco Ventrigilia, Artistic Director of the Royal New Zealand Ballet.

Misty Copland, by Gregg Delman with foreward by Misty Copeland has been released by Rizzoli New York, September 2016. Delman is an award winning photographer whose work has appeared in Time, Interview, Elle, GQ, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Gotham, and Vogue. He has photographed a roster of notable names, actors and rock stars. When he first saw Copeland, in 2011, while she was still striving to rise in the ranks of American Ballet Theatre, he believed he had found a really special subject to capture. Copeland has since become the first female, African-American principal dancer for ABT. She has also become a public speaker, celebrity spokesperson, stage performer, television personality, and author.

Queens Theatre will present the award winning play In the Car with Blossom and Len written by Joni Fritz and directed by Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett (Broadway's SWING!) at the Queens Theatre's Shulman Theatre located at 14 United Nations Avenue South in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Diana Vishneva, a Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre since 2005, will give her final performances with the Company during the 2017 Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House. She will dance the role of Tatiana in Onegin on Monday, June 19 and at her farewell performance on Friday, June 23.

New York Theatre Ballet announces The Byer Legacy Celebration on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 6:30pm at St. Marks Church-in-the-Bowery, 131 East 10th Street, NYC, to celebrate the 70th birthday of NYTB Founder & Artistic Director, Diana Byer during the company's Fall 2016 Danspace Project season.

New York Theatre Ballet will present a new installment of its highly acclaimed Legends & Visionaries series at Danspace Project (131 E 10th St, NYC, 10003) on October 6 and 8, 2016 at 8pm, as part of Danspace Project's Community ACCESS series*.  The evenings will include the World Premiere of a new piece by Antonia Franceschi set to an original musical score by Claire van Kampen.  

Works & Process, the performing-arts series at the Guggenheim, announces a new initiative, Works & Process Rotunda Projects. Building on its long tradition of commissioning performances for the unique architecture of the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater, Works & Process will expand into the museum's rotunda. A new residency and and commissioning program, Works & Process Rotunda Projects will invite artists to create works for this iconic space.

Casting for American Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker, co-presented by Segerstrom Center for the Arts and ABT, was announced today by Kevin McKenzie, ABT Artistic Director and Terry Dwyer, Segerstrom Center President. Choreographed by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, The Nutcracker will be given 12 performances at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, December 9-18, 2016. The Nutcracker, set to music by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, features choreography by Alexei Ratmansky, scenery and costumes by award-winning designer Richard Hudson and lighting by Jennifer Tipton. The Pacific Symphony performs the beloved holiday score. In the Los Angeles Times review from last year's inaugural Center performance, it declared, "Choreographer Alexei Ratmansky has made his own Christmas miracle: a joyful 'Nutcracker' ballet that is ravishing and clever enough to inspire multiple viewings."

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of six new members, Kelsey Hellebuyck, Emily Mistretta, Gustavo Ribeiro, Amaya Rodriguez, James Rogers, Kevin Wilson, and three new apprentices, Ivan Braatz, Sarah Joan Smith, and Katherine Sawicki to the Kansas City Ballet Company.

Artistic Director Julie Kent is pleased to announce that Monica Stephenson joined the faculty at The Washington Ballet's southeast campus TWB@THEARC effective September 1. The move reaffirms TWB's commitment to continuing the growth and excellence of education and community engagement programs in the greater Washington community. Stephenson previously coordinated American Ballet Theatre's Project Plie, an initiative to increase diversity in classical ballet and was a member of ABT's education staff.

The internationally renowned modern dance company Parsons Dance performs at Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre in Malibu on Wednesday, October 5 at 8 p.m.

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen has announced the 2016-2017 season roster. A total of 71 dancers make up the Company roster, with 57 in Boston Ballet, the main professional company, and 14 in Boston Ballet II (BBII), the second company.

A total of 71 dancers make up the Company roster, with 57 in Boston Ballet, the main professional company, and 14 in Boston Ballet II (BBII), the second company. A total of 17 nationalities are represented, with dancers from Brazil, South Korea, France, Georgia, and Australia, to name a few.  More than 32 percent of the main company are BBII alumni and 18 percent are Boston Ballet School alumni. This year marks Principal Dancer Erica Cornejo's final season with Boston Ballet after dancing with the Company for 11 seasons. Cornejo will retire from Boston Ballet in May 2017 with final performances in The Sleeping Beauty.

On Saturday, August 27, Jacob's Pillow Dance announced plans to build a new dance studio on the historic Jacob's Pillow campus. The announcement was made by Director Pamela Tatge at the Pillow's 2016 Festival Finale, with the official ground-breaking ceremony to take place at the Pillow on Friday, October 14 at 5pm.
