Yesterday, 106.7 Lite FM presented the return of its much-anticipated, annual lunchtime theatre summer series, '106.7 Lite FM's Broadway in Bryant Park.' The 2013 program will present the best of Broadway, FREE to the public, on six consecutive Thursdays beginning July 11 at 12:30 p.m. on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by Lite FM's on-air personalities, the 13thannual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through August 15. NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 will add performances to its weekly playing schedule beginning Thursday, May 30th, due to popular demand. The playing schedule will now be as follows: Tuesdays at 8pm, Wednesdays at 2pm and 8pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 5:30 and 9:30pm, and Sundays at 1pm. Producers Howard and Janet Kagan present Dave Malloy's groundbreaking electropop opera NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 at Kazino (West 13th Street and Washington Street). Kazino is a brand new venue created specifically for the show, in the heart of New York's meatpacking district, to transport audiences to a Russian supper club, complete with an authentic Russian menu and bar. According to the New York Times, the show might aim for a bigger stage next season- Broadway. Producer Howard Kagan told the New York Times that he is looking into bringing the experience to a Broadway theatre by 'putting a giant platform of tables, banquettes and performing space over the orchestra seats.'
