New York City Ballet principal dancer and Theatre World Award Winner Megan Fairchild will depart the Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN on August 9 to return to the NYC Ballet. Fairchild will be succeeded by New York City Ballet soloist Georgina Pazcoguin, who will step into the role of 'Ivy Smith' for performances from August 11 - 23. Beginning August 25,Misty Copeland will make her Broadway debut as 'Ivy Smith' for 12 performances only, through September 6.

This just in... The Tony Award nominated revival of ON THE TOWN will conclude its run on Broadway on Sunday, September 6 following 28 previews and 368 regular performances, making this the longest-running Broadway production of the show since the 1944 original.

Alysha Umphress has a special relationship with Barrington Stage Company and William Finn so it wasn't a surprise that on her day off  from On The Town she came to Pittsfield and sang in Mr. Finn's Cabaret.  It also wasn't a surprise the demand for tickets was so great that a second late show had to be added.  

On Thursday, July 16, the Theater People Podcast welcomes Broadway vet and ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK star Lea Delaria. On the episode, DeLaria shares stories from her nearly 35-year career as a stand-up comic, jazz musician, Broadway leading lady, and film and television actor.

Composer Steve Marzullo will premier his song cycle 'To Marz And Back' this Sunday, July 12th as part of The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) concert series this summer.

THE VISIT cast album, out tomorrow, is a joint release of two labels: Broadway Records and Yellow Sound Label, and is co-executive produced by Hunter Arnold, Carl Daikelerand Sandi Moran. Tonight, July 9 (7PM), the company will reunite at Barnes and Noble (150 East 86th Street) for a CD signing and performance.

On July 12-13 (9:30 & 7:30PM) Cristin Milioti will return to Joe's Pub after numerous sold out concerts, including the prestigious Lincoln Center's American Songbook. Cristin is known for her dramatic, comedic, and musical work on stage, television and in film, but best known for starring as 'Girl' in the Broadway smash hit musical ONCE, for which she won a Grammy Award and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. On film, Milioti was most recently seen in Martin Scorsese's THE WOLF OF WALL STREET playing Jordan Belfort's (Leonardo DiCaprio's) wife, Teresa Petrillo. Milioti also played Tracy McConnell aka 'The Mother' on CBS's hit comedy, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, and most recently joined the cast of season two on FX's Golden Globe-winning drama, FARGO. Last fall she starred in the NBC comedy, A TO Z. She's busy preparing for her new concert, but she checked in with BroadwayWorld earlier this week to update us on her life on the big screen, her upcoming return to the stage,  and so much more. Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts (www.usdan.com), the renowned Long Island summer arts day camp which has just begun its 48th season, presented its annual 'Voices of Broadway' musical performance today. This is a special revue by Broadway performers, part of Usdan's special 'Festival Concerts' series, exposing students to the best of the arts.

Due to popular demand, Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, has had to change and add performance times to Alysha Umphress' 'I've Been Played' and Elizabeth Stanley's 'I Get Carried Away' shows at Mr. Finn's Cabaret, located on the lower level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield.

On Monday, June 6th the Theater People Podcast welcomes two-time Tony winner Michael Cerveris. The star of stage and screen won his second Tony Award last month for his turn as Bruce Bechdel in FUN HOME. Cerveris shares stories of his over two-year journey with the show, which won this year's Tony for Best New Musical. He discusses his decision not to read the graphic memoir on which the show is based, and his experience of visiting the real life Bechdel home where most of the show takes place. 

Broadway Records announced today the official digital download release of The Visit available tomorrow, June 30th.

The Broadway Community worships at the altar of Michael McElroy and, pretty soon, so will the world. The Broadway veteran, with many shows under his belt, founded the Broadway Inspirational Voices in 1994 and, last night, photographer and friend Walter McBride and I were invited to a private home, where an awe-inspiring event transpired. We witnessed the birth of PARLOR NIGHT, something that ladies Di Ana Pisarri and Schele Williams had dreamed of for some time.

On Monday June 22, 2015 Theater People Podcast welcomes Tony nominee Kerry Butler. Currently starring as Hillary Clinton in CLINTON THE MUSICAL at New World Stages, Butler made her Broadway debut in BLOOD BROTHERS before replacing as Belle in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

The Off-Broadway hit Murder for Two opens tonight (June 3) in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater.  The production has now been extended through Sunday, August 2.

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was held earlier today, May 27th in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets. Hosted by HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH's Darren Criss, Broadway's best turned out for the annual performance - including the cast of On the Town, who performed 'New York, New York'- check it out below!
