The Music Center named 111 of some of Southern California's most talented high school students as semifinalists in The Music Center's 29th annual Spotlight (Spotlight) program, a free nationally-acclaimed scholarship and arts training program for teens.  An important part of The Music Center's fundamental support for arts education, Spotlight is more than a competition.  The program provides opportunities for Southern California high school students to acquire the skills they need to pursue their dreams in the performing arts, ranging from the development of performance abilities in numerous genres to roles in arts management, along with valuable workforce readiness skills.

Tom Gold Dance presents its sixth annual New York City season, Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a program of three recent and new works-Company Premieres of Oasis and Served; and the World Premiere of Counterpoint-from Tom Gold Dance Founder and Director Tom Gold.

The Music Center, L.A.'s performing arts destination, welcomes Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater on March 8 - 12, 2017 as part of the Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center 2016-2017 season at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The company will perform three different programs during the five-day engagement.

These are the names invoked by critics in attempting to describe the artistry of cellist Garfield Moore, appearing in an afternoon recital with pianist Hiroko Sakurazawa on Sunday April 2 at 2:00pm at the Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill.

Ghosts Appearing through the Sound celebrates the life, the philosophy, the music, and the magic of Abbey Lincoln: jazz singer-songwriter, actress, civil rights activist, and outspoken black woman, with an evening of music, poetry, and dance.

On Saturday, March 4th, 40 metro area high school acts competed in the Semi-final round of the 7th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition.  St. Louis performing arts professionals judged the acts and narrowed the field to 17 acts (29 individual finalists) who will move on to the finals on Saturday, April 8th at 8pm at The Fabulous Fox Theatre (a list of acts can be found here).  These acts are one step closer to performing on the Fox Stage and winning college scholarships, prizes and performance opportunities.  'We couldn't be happier with the level of talent this year.  While we usually only advance 12-13 acts to the finals, this year is an exception and we have 17 qualifying acts!' exclaimed Mary Strauss, Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation Board President.  The final competition is a Broadway-style show that is FREE and open to the public.  General Admission tickets are required and available now at no charge at The Fabulous Fox box office and through Metrotix.

Today, past winners Denise Gough and Matt Henry announced the nominations for the Olivier Awards 2017 with Mastercard, the most prestigious event in the UK's theatrical calendar. The 2017 awards are set to be the biggest yet, as they make their debut at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 9 April.

IATI Theater opens its 2017 Spring season with Gazoline, a play written by Jordi Casanova, one of Spain's most prolific contemporary playwrights, and inspired by the 2005 French riots, but with a 2017 New York Latino accent.

Fire Island Dance Festival, one of the most anticipated charitable events of the Fire Island summer, will return to bring extraordinary dance and an incomparable weekend of culture on July 14-16, 2017. Performer and choreographer Domineka Reeves presents Together We Stand, a forty-five-minute piece of dance and videography scenes that explores different concepts of emotions evoked from our past and present society issues.

 In celebration of Women's History Month, mixed media artist Ruth Bauer Neustadter presents the program, Yes We Can!, featuring women artists in dance, music and theater, at the Ceres Gallery, located at 527 West 27th Street #201 in New York City, onWednesday, March 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.).  The event is free and open to the public.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the continuation of the fourth season of Chicago's hit "lost" musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits Little Me, music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and book by Neil Simon based on the novel by Patrick Dennis, with direction by Porchlight Artistic Director Michael Weber, musical direction by Linda Madonia, choreography by Craig Miller with special guest choreography by veteran Bob Fosse dancer Jane Lanier and starring Jeff Award-winner Matt Crowle. Porchlight Revisits Little Me is presented for three-nights-only Tuesday, Feb. 28 through Thursday, March 2 at 7:15 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's The Scottsboro Boys (previews begin Friday, Feb. 3) at Stage 773, 1225 W. Alonzo King LINES Ballet is pleased to announce its Spring Season at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, May 4-14. The season pairs visionary choreographer Alonzo King with Bob Holman, legendary founder of the Bowery Poetry Club, endangered language activist, poet and filmmaker.

New York Theatre Ballet (NYTB) returns to New York Live Arts with its new Uptown/Downtown/Dance series from March 1-4, 2017 at 7:30pm with an additional 2pm matinee on Saturday.

From a humble beginning in 1979 when Carol Paumgarten, the Artistic Director of Steps on Broadway with her then partner Patrice Soriero opened for business in a small space on 56th and Broadway in NYC, Steps has burgeoned into a bustling, internationally acclaimed dance studio boasting top teachers and a huge clientele that ranges from pre-schoolers to leading professional dancers.

Fadi Khoury's FJK DANCE will bring 10 company dancers to China, kicking off the company's first extended international tour to the Far East, February 28 to April 30. The eight-week multi-city tour will present three FJK DANCE repertory works, Take Two, Echoes and Dum Tak, in 31 Chinese cities including Wuhan, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wenzhou, introducing FJK's unique blend of ballroom, ballet, jazz and Middle Eastern dance to new international audiences. The company's multicultural approach to the medium will be presented in more than 30 theaters throughout the run.
