Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel today announced casting for the Encores! production of The New Yorkers, Cole Porter's 1930 Prohibition lark. The New Yorkers will star Cyrille Aimee, Clyde Alves, Todd Buonopane, Arnie Burton, Kevin Chamberlin, Mylinda Hull, Robyn Hurder, Byron Jennings, Eddie Korbich, Tam Mutu, Jeffrey Schecter, Scarlett Strallen, Tyler Lansing Weaks and Ruth Williamson.

Producer Q Theatricals announced today that after critically acclaimed and award winning productions in Seattle, New Jersey and Boston the new musical, ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME, will begin performances on Friday, April 14, 2017 and officially open on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Off-Broadway's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street). An epic romance retrieves from oblivion the lost story of the Holocaust of Libyan Jews in 'Benghazi Bergen-Belsen,' a play by Lahav Timor that is inspired by the Brenner Prize-winning 2016 novel of the same name by Yossi Sucary, the first book about Jews in World War II Libya. The play is translated from Hebrew by Inbal Timor and directed by Michal Gamily. La MaMa Theatre will present its world premiere run March 23 to April 9 in its Downstairs Theater, 66 East Fourth Street, Manhattan (East Village).

The Kentucky Center's Whitney Hall and Brown Theatre have both been recognized among the top 200 theatre venues in the world, based on ticket sales. Whitney Hall ranked 33rd and the Brown Theatre ranked 149th. The report was issued by Pollstar, considered to be the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater announces Moonlight x Ailey, a new dance film short choreographed by Artistic Director Robert Battle in a unique collaboration with Academy Award-winning composer Nicholas Britell. Inspired by the critically-acclaimed drama Moonlight, Best Picture winner at the 74th Annual Golden Globe® Awards and nominated for eight Oscars® at next week's Academy Awards®, the blue-lit movements are danced by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's Jamar Roberts, and The Ailey School students Christopher Taylor and Jeremy T. Villas. Robert Battle, the film's director Barry Jenkins, and playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney are from Miami's Liberty City neighborhood - the setting for Moonlight.

Yannick Lebrun has been involved with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for the last 13 years. Starting as a student studying under a scholarship from 2004 until 2006 until making his debut with their junior company, Ailey II, immediately after. During one of the tours, Lebrun was asked to step into Ailey's highest dance company to fill in for an injured dancer.
