Ars Nova kicks off 2014 with Game Play, this year's incarnation of Ars Nova's annual Play Group production. An evening of original short plays and live music inspired by classic board game titles, Game Play features Peter Benson, Marcia DeBonis, Dashiell Eaves, Brandon Gill, Ben Graney, Susan Heyward, Jessica Love and Carmen Zilles. This production plays 10 performances, January 29 - February 8.

Iconic STAR TREK notable and upcoming ALLEGIANCE stage star George Takei took some time out of his busy schedule to visit the touring production of Peter Pan-themed PETER & THE STARCATCHER earlier this week during its month-long Los Angeles stay and some photos of his backstage visit are now available to view.

Ars Nova has announced this year's New Year's Eve Spectacular, the grand finale to its 10th Anniversary year.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents the national tour of Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony Award winning musical play written by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice and directed by Tony Award?winner Roger Rees and Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers, from January 28 to February 16, 2014 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Press opening night is Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

The box office at the historic Winter Garden theatre (1634 Broadway) opens Friday, December 20th at 10am for the upcoming musical, ROCKY. In honor of 1976, the year in which the Oscar-winning film was released, ROCKYwill offer a $76 ticket to a select number of preview performances. This offer is only available in person at the box office on Friday, December 20th and will be available on a first come first served basis. ROCKY begins previews February 11, 2014 and officially opens on March 13, 2014.

Every holiday season, along with all the usual theatrical suspects, there are always a few unique and surprising choices that pop up on area stages. There's usually some kind of strange or twisted take on A Christmas Carol. There's often some kind of musical revue, or two, featuring favorite holiday tunes. Watson, for a limited 5-performance engagement, December 12 - 15, 2013 at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street, between 8th & 9th Avenues).

The Wilbury Theatre Group announces the Rhode Island premiere of the Obie award-winning musical, A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant. Written by Kyle Jarrow based on a concept by Alex Timbers, and directed by David Tessier (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) with music by Kerry Callery (Body Awareness), this production of the cult-hit telling of the life L. Ron Hubbard and the founding of Scientology marks the tenth anniversary of the ground-breaking cult-hit's original New York premiere. A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant runs tonight, December 5-22 at The Wilbury Theatre Group, 393 Broad Street, Providence RI.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has named Mandy Greenfield as its new Artistic Director, the Festival's Board Chair Matt Harris announced today. Greenfield, who is currently Artistic Producer at Manhattan Theatre Club, succeeds Jenny Gersten beginning September 2014. As previously announced, Gersten departs Williamstown Theatre Festival in January 2014 to become Executive Director of Friends of the Highline. Gersten will program the upcoming 2014 season, and Williamstown Theatre Festival Producer Stephen Kaus will oversee the season. Greenfield's tenure as Artistic Director will begin immediately following the 2014 season, the Festival's 60th.
