As reported in an interview AFP, Alan Menken is heading into this TV awards season with the possibility of joining the elite EGOT club-a feat realized by just 12 people in history. Although Menken's resume is littered with so many award-winning hits that many might assume he's already fulfilled all the EGOT requirements (winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony), Menken lacks the 'E' in the acronym, a fact that just might change if he's fortunate enough to win an Emmy award for his Galavant tune, 'A New Season' in September.

Award-winning French composer and pianist Nicolas Mazmanian will give his first piano recital in North America, French Reflections on the American Dream, at the Colburn School's Mayman Hall in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday, September 9, 2016. The program features Mazmanian's original classical compositions for piano, which invite the audience into a world of fantasy, dreams, and inner romanticism. Mazmanian's accessible melodic music reflects the strong influence of French, Armenian, and American composers.
