'God of Carnage' open last night, April 13, at 8 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre reuniting the original Tony Award-nominated Broadway cast of Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden in the scathingly funny, Tony Award-winning Best Play. Acclaimed British playwright, screenwriter, translator and director Christopher Hampton will be in Los Angeles next week to celebrate simultaneous openings. Hampton's translation of Chekhov's The Three Sisters, starring Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt, Tessa Thompson, Sarah Zimmerman and Reid Scott in a radio theater production for L.A. Theatre Works, and the West Coast premiere of his translation of Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning God of Carnage, starring Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden at the Ahmanson Theatre, both open on Wednesday, April 13.

National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) will hold its Annual Chairman's Awards Gala and benefit on Monday, May 2 at the St. Regis New York hotel (2 East 55th Street at Fifth Avenue). This year, NCTF Chairman James S Turley, Chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young, will honor Oscar and Tony Award-winner Joel Grey (on Broadway this season in Anything Goes and director of Broadway's The Normal Heart), Charles Dillingham (Managing Director, Center Theatre Group, Los Angeles) and BNY Mellon. Accepting the award on behalf of Corporate Honoree will be Gerald Hassell, President. All net proceeds of the event will be distributed as the NCTF/BNY MELLON FUND FOR NEW AMERICAN THEATRE.

The Druid and Atlantic Theater Company production of Martin McDonagh's darkly humorous 'The Cripple of Inishmaan' just opened at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Broadway's hit musical comedy THE ADDAMS FAMILY welcomes stage and screen star Brooke Shields in the role of Morticia beginning Tuesday, June 28 at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). Two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth will play her final performance in the role on Sunday, June 26. Ms. Shields will play opposite Roger Rees, who stars as Gomez.

REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater) announces preliminary program highlights for RADAR L.A., an international festival of contemporary theater running June 14-20. The festival is produced by REDCAT in collaboration with Center Theatre Group and The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival (New York), and a consortium including Theatre Communications Group, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, LA Stage Alliance and the Los Angeles Theatre Center. $50 multi-event passes go on sale in April and will allow audiences to attend performances for as little as $10.

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that supermodel and television personality Emme, 'Two and a Half Men' star Conchata Ferrell, two-time Tony Award nominee Alison Fraser (The Secret Garden), actress and radio host Marla Maples and '90210' star AnnaLynne McCord will all join upcoming casts of the Off Broadway hit Love, Loss, and What I Wore, now in its second smash year at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43 Street).

Due to overwhelming demand, 'God of Carnage' at Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre has been extended for two additional weeks. The production, which features the original Broadway cast of Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden, will now be performed in Los Angeles for eight weeks from April 5 through May 29, 2011.
