Following 2011's The Sparrow and last season's sold-out-hit Death and Harry Houdini, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is proud to partner with the famed House Theatre of Chicago for a third consecutive season to present a new holiday-themed production, THE NUTCRACKER, A MAGICAL NEW PLAY, playing November 29 through December 30 in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House). Written by House company members Jake Minton and Phillip Klapperich, and featuring original music by Jefferson Award-winning composer Kevin O'Donnell, THE NUTCRACKER, A MAGICAL NEW PLAY is a "riveting reinvention" (The Chicago Sun-Times) of the beloved holiday classic by E.T.A. Hoffmann and boasts an in-the-round set perfect for up-close enchanting experiences.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County proudly announces a rare complete performance of one of the most powerful scores in the history of music, played by one of today's brightest rising stars. On January 13, 2013, launching the Center's four-concert John S. and James L. Knight Masterworks Season - Sanford and Beatrice Ziff Classical Music Series, SIMONE DINNERSTEIN plays Johann Sebastian Bach's "Goldberg" Variations for her Arsht Center debut.

Florida Grand Opera's 72nd season is marked by the return of company favorites. The company's season opener is none other than Puccini's internationally beloved La boheme, taking place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County from tonight, November 17, 2012 to December 2, 2012 and at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale on December 6, 2012 and December 8, 2012.

Florida Grand Opera will celebrate the start of the 72nd opera season with its annual gala - "An Evening at the Cafe Momus". Held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, this glamorous themed evening will follow the opening night performance of Puccini's La boheme tonight, November 17, 2012, featuring opera stars Ailyn Perez and Arturo Chacon-Cruz.

STOMP, the international sensation, is making its triumphant return to The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. STOMP is part of the Broadway in Miami 2012-2013 subscription season presented by Bank of America. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans.

The House Theatre of Chicago makes the holidays merry with the return of The Nutcracker for its fourth annual production. The family-friendly original play by Company Members Jake Minton and Phillip Klapperich and music by Kevin O'Donnell begins performances tonight, November 9, 2012 at The Chopin Theatre (1543 W Division St.)

In order to create a more streamlined and effective composition, Florida Grand Opera has restructured its Board of Directors. Changes were voted into effect during a board meeting on Sept. 18, 2012, which also hosted the scheduled elections, welcoming new members.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County presents the esteemed BALLET AUSTIN performing LIGHT / THE HOLOCAUST & HUMANITY PROJECT, a riveting contemporary ballet created by Artistic Director Stephen Mills that turns the spotlight on discrimination and the ultimate triumph of the human spirit. The performance, which inspired a community-wide human rights initiative by the same name, will take place in the Ziff Ballet Opera House tonight, November 3 and 4, 2012.

Twenty years into a South Florida presence that has seen him evolve from a creatively brilliant events impresario into a revered restaurateur/hotelier and corporate entrepreneurial powerhouse, Barton G. Weiss will kick it up a notch with the announcement that in early January 2013, a new Barton G. The Restaurant will openat 861 North La Cienega Boulevardin West Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Natasha Waisfeld is a graduate of New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL with a BFA in Theater and is making her New York City debut with the production of her one person show titled "Love Frantic" for the United Solo Theater Festival on November 12th at 7:30PM. United Solo, the world's largest solo theater festival, presents one hundred productions this year and all shows are staged at Theatre ROW: 410 W 42nd Street, NYC. Now celebrating its seventh season, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is thrilled to present two-time Grammy Award-winning, multiple-platinum album jazz artist, DIANA KRALL. Currently travelling the globe as part of the 'Glad Rag Doll World Tour', DIANA KRALL will kick off the U.S. portion of her tour in Miami on April 2, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. in the acoustically superb John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall.

The Collegiate Chorale announces its encore performance with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra of Arnold Schoenberg's Kol Nidre and Israeli composer Noam Sheriff's Mechaye Hametim (Revival of the Dead), which they performed this summer at the Salzburg Festival. Tonight's October 25 performance will be the New York premiere of Mechaye Hametim.

Following last season's reinterpretation of Federico Garcia Lorca's classic The House of Bernarda Alba, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and the University of Miami's Department of Theatre Arts are partnering once again to present a fresh rock musical, GIRLS VS. BOYS, written by the creators of The Sparrow and Death and Harry Houdini - Chris Mathews, Jake Minton, Kevin O'Donnell and Nathan Allen of the renowned House Theatre of Chicago. Playing November 1 - 18, 2012 in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House), GIRLS VS. BOYS is a captivating, dramatic story about the struggles of teen life set to a rocking, soul-bearing score. The musical is part of the Arsht Center's Theater Up Close series in the Carnival Studio Theater which features artistic collaborations from stellar local theater ensembles and nationally acclaimed theater companies.
