Print Room at The Coronet Announces Autumn 2016 Season

Artistic Director Anda Winters today announces Print Room at the Coronet's forthcoming season running through until December 2016. The season opens with Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur, directed by Michael Oakley. The production opens in the main theatre space on 15 September, with previews from 12 September, and runs until 7 October.

The magic of Shakespeare is derived from the fact that the renowned plays written by the Bard of Avon can nimbly be transported from London's Globe Theater in Elizabethan England to the spell-casting city of New Orleans at the turn of the 20th century. That's what Ruby In The Dust have done with their production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, as they've taken the Bard to the bayou. Audiences who expect to hear the sound of the lute for musical accompaniment will be intrigued to listen to the jazz of Dr. John, who gave his approval for its inclusion, in this production.

As previously announced, David Suchet will star as 'Lady Bracknell' in Oscar Wilde's much loved and exhilarating masterpiece THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Directed by Adrian Noble, the new production will open in the West End on July 1, 2015, with previews from June 24. Suchet recently told the Daily Mail that Goeffrey Rush and Brian Bedford's portrayals of the iconic character led him to take the role, but that he wants to play the lady 'straight.'

Giuseppe Verdi's adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth comes to THIRTEEN's Great Performances at the Met with an internationally renowned cast headed by Russian star soprano Anna Netrebko in her North American debut as the fatally ambitious Lady Macbeth.
Serbian baritone Željko Lu?i? sings the title role; German bass René Pape is among his victims of his bloody rise to the throne as Banquo, and Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja sings the role of his heroic rival Macduff.
