An agreement has just been reached between Rudinplay and the Harper Lee Estate regarding the new Aaron Sorkin penned stage adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. The play will go forward as scheduled, opening at Broadway's Shubert Theatre in December.

The line up of performers alone is enough to get you securing your ticket and just skimming the cast list names such as Keith Marr, Bridie Dixon and Sam Iosefo catch my eye. I have reviewed them before and they are excellent.

The Syracuse University Department of Drama announced the six plays and musicals that will make up the 2018/2019 season. With an emphasis on contemporary work, the season addresses a variety of current issues and concerns as experienced from intimately personal points of view. The season celebrates stories of consequence, while at the same time investigating and challenging the process, implications and impact of storytelling itself.

The Broadway-bound production of To Kill a Mockingbird has been in legal trouble for some time, but answers may be coming soon. Yesterday an Alabama court judge granted Scott Rudin's request for an expedited trial and agreed to move the adjudication to the Southern New York circuit. The two-week trial is scheduled to begin June 4.

QUEEN AMERICA, a new scripted series starring multi-award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, has been given a 10-episode, straight-to-series order by Facebook's new video platform Facebook Watch.

MasterClass, the online education company that that enables anyone to learn from the best in the world, today launched a class on Directing taught by Ron Howard, the Academy Award winning director of A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon, The Da Vinci Code, Parenthood, Splash, Cocoon, The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years, Genius, and the highly anticipated Solo: A Star Wars Story. 

This week a federal court judge in New York City elevated the ongoing drama between Broadway producer Scott Rudin and the estate of late novelist, Harper Lee.

The Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its world premiere production of Amanda Peet's Our Very Own Carlin McCullough. The play will feature Mamie Gummer (The Good Wife, True Detective) as Cyn, Abigail Dylan Harrison (The Affair) as Carlin at 10, Caroline Heffernan as Carlin at 17, Tyee Tilghman as Saleef and Joe Tippett (Rise, Broadway's Waitress) as Jay. Tyne Rafaeli (Geffen's Ironbound, Actually) will direct.

The Syracuse University Department of Drama continues its season with Paula Vogel's Obie Award-winning play "The Baltimore Waltz." Directed by Drama faculty member Katherine McGerr, the play runs March 30 - April 8 in the Storch Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/Department of Drama Complex. Opening night is Saturday, March 31.

Czarny has once again brought local theatergoers an intense and memorable production. The acting, set design, and meticulous direction are top notch, especially for a community theatre.
