Two-time Tony Award-winning singer/actress Christine Ebersole joins jazz violinist Aaron Weinstein and his trio for Strings Attached, a special late-afternoon performance at 92nd Street Y on Thursday, May 16 at 4 pm. Ebersole and the trio showcase classics standards from the '20s and '30s by Fats Waller ("Jitterbug Waltz"), Cole Porter "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye"), Johnny Mercer ("This Time the Dream's on Me") and George Gershwin ("Shall We Dance"). Strings Attached debuted in November 2011 at a sold-out engagement at Birdland Jazz Club; this performance is 92Y's annual Kathryn W. Stein Memorial Concert.

Randy James' new dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, will have its New York City Debut at New York Live Arts, May 30, 31, June 1 at 7:30 pm and June 2 at 2:00 pm.

In advance of Classic Stage Company's production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle, actor Christopher Lloyd, CSC's artistic director Brian Kulick and The Public Theater's Oskar Eustis talk about Brecht's legacy in the 21st century. The evening will also feature readings from the play.

Star of stage and screen Dick Van Dyke has been forced to cancel an upcoming public appearance due to an undiagnosed neurological problem. The actor was set to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award for Bettering Humanity through Comedy from New York City's 92nd Street Y on April 26.

Tonight, April 19, at 8 p.m. the Young People's Chorus of New York City, conducted by its Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Nuñez, will premiere the four newest commissions in its Radio Radiance series in a recording before a live audience in Kaufmann Concert Hall at the 92nd Street Y. This new Radio Radiance music, in which technology and the human voice overlap to make new sounds and great music, will be recorded for later broadcast this spring by WWFM The Classical Network and hosted by YPC's longtime friend and collaborator John Schaefer from WNYC.

Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone headlines the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's 2012-13 NJSO POPS season finale in Newark and New Brunswick, June 1-2. The legendary diva, who last appeared with the NJSO in 2009, will perform songs from her latest album, 'Far Away Places,' backed for the first time by full orchestra. The star of Broadway's Gypsy will also sing signature songs from her illustrious career on stage and screen. Rob Fisher conducts.

On Thursday, June 13 (7 + 9 pm) at The Invisible Dog in Brooklyn, choreographer Rebecca Lazier and indie-classical ensemble Newspeak present the first US performances of Coming Together/Attica, a site-specific setting of Frederic Rzewski's iconic minimalist scores written following the 1971 prison riots in upstate New York. Lazier's dancers are Rashaun Mitchell and Silas Riener (formerly of Merce Cunningham Dance Company); Asli Bulbul, most recently from Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company; Jennifer Lafferty, who is featured in the work of Beth Gill and Yasuko Yokoshi; Pierre Guilbault; and Christopher Ralph.

On Sunday, April 14, Randie Levine-Miller presented and hosted Broadway Showstopper Divas --'A Swell Party' at the Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd Street) as an Actors Fund Benefit. The evening's theme was 'The Vets and the Yets!'-- starring the best of the best -- Broadway star and Tony nominated Anita Gillette, and Broadway actress/singer and cabaret comedienne Jackie Hoffman. Brooke Shields has been announced as the director of the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of CHICAGO, which holds the record as the third longest running show in Broadway history. Rob Fisher has also been announced as the conductor of the production. Shields starred in CHICAGO both on Broadway and in London's West End and this marks her directing debut. Fisher's association with the show began with the 1996 Broadway revival and he continues to be supervising music director of CHICAGO productions around the globe.
