Leeds Playhouse and Opera North have announced a ‘loverly’ cast for their co-production of Lerner and Loewe’s classic musical My Fair Lady, with leading soprano Katie Bird and star of stage and screen John Hopkins in the leading roles of Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins. The revival of the award-winning musical plays in Leeds Playhouse’s Quarry Theatre from 31 May – 29 June.
Each year, award-winning touring company New Perspectives support a group of early career artists from the East Midlands through a year-long development programme from their Nottingham base.
The two shows form part of a 14-strong programme of new productions which have been specially selected by a panel of industry experts. The announcement coincides with June being Pride Month 2021.
The West End transfer of Sue Townsend's THE SECRET DIARY OF ADRIAN MOLE AGED 13¾ - THE MUSICAL is closing, after a successful run at The Ambassadors Theatre, on 28 September.
Rehearsals begin today for Sue Townsend's The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾ - The Musical, which will open at the Ambassadors Theatre for a limited season from 15 June until 12 October 2019, with a Gala Night on Tuesday 2 July. The musical has book and lyrics by Jake Brunger, music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary and direction by Luke Sheppard.
