Tony & Grammy Award winner and Academy & Emmy Award nominee Leslie Odom, Jr. will star in the new Broadway production of the classic American comedy Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch by the legendary Ossie Davis.

Tony and Grammy® award-winning, and two-time Academy Award nominated singer and actor Leslie Odom, Jr. will host THE TONY AWARDS PRESENT: BROADWAY’S BACK! from 9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT. Earlier in the evening will be the live presentation of the American Theatre Wing’s 74th Annual Tony Awards live at 7:00 PM, ET/4:00 PM, PT, hosted by Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award-winning actor and singer Audra McDonald.

24th Street Theatre finds color in the lives of two orphan girls living in a silent film world of black, white and varying shades of gray. Debbie Devine directs the West Coast premiere of Kerry Muir's magical, surreal, dream-like movie-within-a play, The Night Buster Keaton Dreamed Me, for an April 11 opening. Performances will continue through May 31, with low-priced previews taking place March 28 through April 5.

A limited 'sneak peek' run of Gentleman-George Production's ORRY will begin November 1, 2019 at The Lee Strasberg Theatre. Writer/performer Nick Hardcastle has adapted Oscar-winning costume designer Orry-Kelly's memoirs Women I've Dressed for a ninety-minute stage production (directed by Wayne Harrison) incorporating music, dance, vaudeville, puppetry, special effects and some of Orry-Kelly's award--winning creations. La Razon Blindada ("Armored Reason") -This sublimely witty and provocative play, written and directed by Argentine playwright Aristides Vargas, was triply inspired by the classic novel "El Quixote" by Cervantes, "The Truth About Sancho Panza" by Franz Kafka, and testimonies from Chicho Vargas and other political prisoners held in Rawson Prison during Argentina's "Dirty War" of the 1970s. Jesus Castaños Chima and Tony Duran reprise their roles as political prisoners who are allowed to interact with one another for one hour a week - but must remain in their chairs and never stand.

Casting has been set for the 24th STreet Theatre award-winning production of "Walking the Tightrope," which will be remounted for the Kirk Douglas Theatre presentation of four public performances only, May 2 and 3 at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

'Walking the Tightrope' by Mike Kenny, directed by Debbie Devine, comes to the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of Center Theatre Group's DouglasPlus programming at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on May 2 and 3, 2015. (Student performances April 28 through May 1). This is a production of the 24th STreet Theatre.

24th STreet Theatre's Teatro del Pueblo ('Theater of the Village') returns in 2014 with the world premiere of La Vispera ('The Eve'), another warm, funny and unique holiday play about love and sacrifice created from stories shared by members of the local immigrant community during workshops with professional theater artists. Written by Victor Vazquez, co-directed by Jesus Castaños-Chima and Sayda Trujillo, and supported by The James Irvine Foundation Exploring Engagement Fund, La Vispera gets four performances tonight, Dec. 6 through Dec. 14 at 24th STreet Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

All performances are in Spanish with English supertitles, and admission is only 24 cents. Following each performance, the audience will be invited to join the performers for a Posada (Christmas procession) around the neighborhood before heading back to the theater for homemade tamales, warm ponche (punch) and a traditional star-shaped piñata.

The USC School of Dramatic Arts, considered one of the world's premier theatre schools, honors cultural icon Jane Fonda with the prestigious 'Robert Redford Award for Engaged Artists' at a gala fundraiser on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, 6:30 p.m., at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The multi-Academy Award-winning actress/producer is being recognized for her public commitment to social responsibility, to increasing awareness of global issues and for inspiring and empowering young people, as well as for the exemplary quality, skill and innovation of her vast body of work on screen and stage. The award, created in 2009 is named for its first recipient, Robert Redford. Proceeds from the event provide scholarship support for the next generation of artists at the School.
