Actor/Playwright James Lecesne will be presenting a reading of his new play THE MOTHER OF INVENTION in a benefit reading to support the work of The Alzheimer's Family Support Center of Cape Cod. Directed by Tony Speciale, the reading will take place on April 25, 2016 at 7 p.m. at The Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street, NYC), featuring Linda Lavin, Susie Pourfar, Alfredo Narciso, Isabella Russo and Dale Soules.

MCC Theater presented the company's highly anticipated annual gala, Miscast last night, March 26, at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The starry line up of participants included Jonathan Groff ("Glee," Spring Awakening), Megan Hilty ("Smash," 9 to 5), Tony® Award-winner Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon), Josh Gad ("Modern Family," The Book of Mormon), Norm Lewis (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess), Jan Maxwell (Follies, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon), Constantine Maroulis ("American Idol," Rock of Ages), Nicole Parker ("Mad TV," a Miscast favorite returning for her 4th time). As part of Clubbed Thumb's 2010 Summerworks Festival, the Obie Award-winning director is staging the world premiere of a comedy written by a Berkeley native: THE SMALL by Anne Washburn plays for only six performances at the Ohio Theatre in Soho from June 20 - 26. Waters previously directed the off-Broadway production of Washburn's Apparition.

The Play Company kicks off its 2007-2008 season with the American premiere of Bad Jazz by Robert Farquhar. Directed by Trip Cullman, Bad Jazz will play a limited Off-Broadway run through Sunday, November 25 at the Ohio Theatre (66 Wooster Street). Official opening is set for Sunday, November 11 at 7PM.
