BWW Review: JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR at Arvada Center

I've spent a couple decades successfully avoiding Jesus Christ Superstar. I generally don't like religion, and Andrew Lloyd Webber isn't my favorite composer. However, after attending the Arvada Center's current production, I'm a bit more of a believer…in the show, at least.

BWW Review: FAC's 9 TO 5 a Couple Hours of Light Entertainment

9 to 5: The Musical takes place in 1979-a fact the Fine Arts Center hammers home with an abundance of geometric, high-contrast design, bell-bottoms, and loud shirts-but the story it tells feels oddly contemporary: hostile work environments, wage inequality, sexual harassment. About the only thing different is that the regular eight-hour shift described by the title is a distant, wistful memory.

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (FAC) is excited to announce the final Mainstage production of the season and regional premiere, 9 to 5: The Musical May 19-June 12. Directed and choreographed by Associate Director of Performing Arts, Nathan Halvorson, this hilarious new musical based on the blockbuster film is an outrageous, thought?provoking story of friendship and getting ahead in the Rolodex era.

BWW Review: SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM at Cherry Creek Theater

Stephen Sondheim is one of the most celebrated and revered icons of modern musical theatre. His work has been lighting up Broadway for over 5 decades, and while not all of his shows have been major hits, his work, even in the failures, has been well-respected by all. Sondheim on Sondheim is a wonderful look into the life of the artist, and a celebration of his successes as well as an exploration of his flops.
