Just last night, The Public Theater presented its Annual Gala, THE UNITED STATES OF SHAKESPEARE at the Delacorte Theater. Directed by Jeremy McCarter, the always highly-anticipated gala included scenes from Shakespeare's greatest works and the American poems, songs, and stories they inspired, performed by some of The Public's and the nation's, most celebrated actors and musicians.  BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the big night below!

The Public Theater has confirmed additional stars set to appear at its Annual Gala, THE UNITED STATES OF SHAKESPEARE on Monday, June 6 at the Delacorte Theater, including Oscar winner Kevin Kline.

The Public Theater announced today that The Public Theater's Annual Gala, THE UNITED STATES OF SHAKESPEARE, will take place on Monday, June 6 at the Delacorte Theater.

So now it's all here again on the big stage at Actors' Playhouse. There's a cast of 27 directed by David Arisco, the king of big musicals, who doesn't let a flat moment slip into the two hour performance.

?West Side Story, one of the greatest love stories of all time, returns to Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre almost 20 years since the company won South Florida regional theatre's Carbonell Award for "Best Production of a Musical". The show will run January 27 through February 21, 2016.

Highlights of the evening will include James Earl Jones reading a scene from Othello, marking his return to the Delacorte after a 40-year absence and celebrating the 50th anniversary of his playing Othello on the Delacorte stage; Michael Cerveris reading a letter by John Wilkes Booth; and Steven Pasquale singing Tony in the "Tonight" duet from West Side Story.
