​​​​​​​Dramaten (The Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden), The Earth Commons-Georgetown University's Institute for Environment and Sustainability, The Embassy of Sweden in Washington, DC, and The Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics announce the launch of We Hear You-A Climate Archive, co-conceived by Caitlin Nasema Cassidy and Jacob Hirdwall.

Asia Society and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced initial programming for a six-week festival of events paired with the East Coast premiere of COAL + ICE, a documentary photography exhibition that brings together the work of over 50 photographers and video artists from around the world.

Pacific Northwest Ballet continues its 2013-2014 season with George Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream. A complete delight for all ages, this full-length ballet is based on William Shakespeare's comedy about the romantic adventures, quarrels and reunions of two pairs of mortal lovers and the king and queen of the fairies. Balanchine's Midsummer, which New York City Ballet premiered in 1962, was the first original evening-length ballet he choreographed in America. Staged by PNB Founding Artistic Director Francia Russell, PNB's production is an enchanted landscape where misunderstandings and mayhem weave tangled paths through the opulent layers of Martin Pakledinaz's designs and Balanchine's marvelously crafted partnerings. All ends well in Act II's wedding festivities with the recognition of ideal love, tenderly portrayed in an exquisite pas de deux. On Sunday, March 11, as part of the Fukushima anniversary initiative Shinsai: Theaters for Japan, Scandinavian American Theater Company and Ping Chong & Company will co-present a reading of a play written in response to the disaster: Swedish playwright Jacob Hirdwall's Emperor Fukushima. The reading will take place at 7:00 P.M. at La MaMa (47 Great Jones Street). Admission requires a $10 donation at the door; the Japan Playwrights Association will disburse proceeds to the Japanese theater community affected by the disaster.

The Almeida Theatre in the U.K. has announced their Spring 2010 lineup of productions and events.

The Almeida Theatre Company, who have been invited to take part in the Ingmar Bergman International Theatre Festival at the Dramaten (Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden) in Stockholm, will perform a rehearsed reading, script in hand, of Bergman's Through A Glass Darkly, adapted for the stage by Andrew Upton, under the Direction of Michael Attenborough.
