The tour of the Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Philadelphia. WEST SIDE STORY will open at the Academy of Music on March 28 through April 8 as part of the Broadway Season, presented by The Kimmel Center and The Shubert Organization.

The 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights welcomed platinum recording artist and 2007 'American Idol' winner Jordin Sparks on August 19th, making her Broadway debut as Nina Rosario at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). The producers of WEST SIDE STORY are pleased to announce casting for the touring production of the current smash-hit revival now running on Broadway. The tour will kick off at The Fisher Theatre in Detroit, Mich. on September 30, 2010.
WEST SIDE STORY Wins GRAMMY for Best Show Album
The new Broadway cast album of 'West Side Story' has picked up the 2010 Grammy for Best Musical Show Album. The announcement was made during the Grammy Awards' pre-telecast ceremony held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Sunday, January 31. The creative team behind the 'West Side Story' new Broadway cast album is Leonard Bernstein, composer; Stephen Sondheim, lyricist. David Caddick & David Lai produced the album which was released by Masterworks Broadway.

WEST SIDE STORY Recoups After 30 Weeks
WEST SIDE STORY producers announced today the recoupment of the show's $14 million investment after running only 30 Weeks (247 performances). The smash hit revival opened on Broadway Thursday, March 19, 2009 and began previews Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Palace Theatre, where it holds the house record for highest weekly gross. A national tour of this production of WEST SIDE STORY will begin in the fall of 2010.
