Tamasha has been awarded a grant of £45,732 over 30 months through the Baring Foundation's Arts for Wellbeing for Global Majority Artists fund to develop its new Creative Wellbeing Lab.

This autumn the Royal Shakespeare Company brings their acclaimed play The Empress by Lyric Hammersmith Theatre Artistic Associate Tanika Gupta to the Lyric! Learn more about the play and how to get tickets ehre!

Back in 2011 playwright Tanika Gupta staged her adaptation of Great Expectations. 12 years later she has re-worked the script, shifted the time frame and collaborated with the Artistic Director of Tamasha Pooja Ghai. Pooja played Mrs Gargery in the original, and who is now directing this new version for the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

Tamasha launches a three-year programme in partnership with regional organisations around the UK, building on the legacy of its Developing Artists programmes. The programme aims to recalibrate approaches to supporting new writing and rebalance a Eurocentric approach to dramaturgy.

Stage Directors UK (SDUK) has been successful in its bid to become a Trade Union, which will look after the interests of stage directors, choreographers, movement directors, fight directors and intimacy coordinators. 

Tamasha and ICA have announced the cast for Mojisola Adebayo's STARS: an Afrofuturist Space Odyssey. Performances are 13 April – 4 May 2023.

In their first ever co-production, Tamasha theatre company and the ICA present STARS: an Afrofuturist Space Odyssey, about an older woman who goes into outer space in search of her own orgasm. It is created by Alfred Fagon Award 2021 winner and George Devin Award 2022 finalist Mojisola Adebayo, directed by Gail Babb and S. Ama Wray, with animations by artist Candice Purwin, and music direction by producer Debo Adebayo.

Launching Shakespeare’s Globe’s Winter Season, Henry V opens in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse on 10 November, running until 4 February.

Tamasha reveals a rich programme of live and digital theatre from autumn 2022 into spring 2023 - the first full season since Artistic Director Pooja Ghai and Executive Director/CEO Valerie Synmoie have been leading the company.

The Winter Season in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse will open on 10 November with Henry V directed by Headlong Artistic Director Holly Race Roughan and co-produced by the Globe and Headlong with Leeds Playhouse and Royal & Derngate, Northampton.
