Sam Moore To Perform With Garth Brooks On 'Grammy Salute To Music Legends'


Sam Moore and Dave Prater – the groundbreaking duo, Sam & Dave, who brought their gospel roots to Soul music, were one of the primary chart stars at the Stax and Atlantic labels in the '60s. Bringing the passion of call and response to their wailing soul side, the duo were honored by The Recording Academy as one of the recipients of the Special Merit Awards, The Lifetime Achievement Award in May in Los Angeles.

PBS to Air GRAMMY SALUTE TO MUSIC LEGENDS


In collaboration with PBS' 'Great Performances' series, the Recording Academy presents 'GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends®,' the fourth annual all-star concert offering a primetime spotlight for the Academy's 2019 Special Merit Awards recipients. Recorded in May at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre, the event premieres nationwide Friday, Oct. 18 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings),pbs.org/gperf and the PBS Video app.

GRAMMY Museum Promotes Michael Sticka To President


The GRAMMY Museum® announced today the promotion of Michael Sticka to President of the GRAMMY Museum, with a contract that extends through 2022. As President, Sticka will continue to lead the Museum's growth and sustainability strategy as an independent nonprofit arts organization and oversee all aspects of Museum operations, including curatorial, development, marketing, grants and awards, public and education programs, and more.

Recording Academy Announces Executive Producers for 62nd & 63rd GRAMMYS


The Recording Academy has announced that longtime producer/executive producer of the GRAMMY Awards®telecasts since 1980, Ken Ehrlich, will executive produce the upcoming 62nd GRAMMY Awards. The telecast, taking place in 2020, will mark Ehrlich's milestone 40th anniversary. Over the last four decades, Ehrlich has organized some of music's most iconic and memorable TV moments and 'redefined the way we experience live music on television' (Los Angeles Times), turning Music's Biggest Night® into the must-see music awards show every year.

Recording Academy Promotes Lourdes Lopez Patton To Vice President, Communications


The Recording Academy today announced that it has named Lourdes Lopez Patton as its Vice President, Communications. In this position, Lopez Patton reports directly to the Academy's PresidentCEO, overseeing the vision and execution of all aspects of strategic internal and external communications, including media relations, public relations, corporate communications, and reputation management.

Recording Academy Announces Newly Elected National Officers


The Recording Academy announced today its newly elected National Officers of the Board of Trustees, voted upon at the organization's annual spring Board of Trustees meeting in May. Record producer Harvey Mason Jr. has been elected as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, and managing partner of Placement Music Tammy Hurt will serve as Vice Chair. Veteran music executive Terry Hemmings was re-elected Secretary/Treasurer and recording artist and founder/CEO of Swan Songs Christine Albert assumes the position of Chair Emeritus. All officer appointments were effective on June 1, 2019.

Recording Academy Announces the GRAMMY SALUTE TO MUSIC LEGENDS on May 11


The Recording Academy will honor its 2019 Special Merit Awards recipients with 'GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends®,' an awards ceremony and live tribute concert on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Black Sabbath, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Billy Eckstine, Donny Hathaway, Julio Iglesias, Sam & Dave, and Dionne Warwick. Lou Adler, Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson, and Johnny Mandel are Trustees Award honorees; and Saul Walker is the Technical GRAMMY® Award recipient. Also being honored is Jeffery Redding, this year's recipient of the Music Educator Award presented by the Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum®. Led by GRAMMY®-nominated industry icon Greg Phillinganes as musical director, the tribute concert will feature rare performances by honorees and never-seen renditions by those they've inspired. Currently scheduled to appear are Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Clinton; GRAMMY winner Bootsy Collins, who will salute Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic; five-time GRAMMY winner Lalah Hathaway and Kenya Hathaway, who will pay tribute to their father Donny; past Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Johnny Mathis, who will honor Warwick; Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient Sam Moore;two-time GRAMMY winner Gregory Porter, who will pay tribute to Eckstine; Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Simpson; past GRAMMY nominee Snoop Dogg, who will salute Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic; and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Warwick. Presenters for the evening will include GRAMMY winners Cheech & Chong. Additional performers and presenters will be announced shortly. Kristin Chenoweth Among 2019 GRAMMYs On The Hill Honorees


On April 9, the Recording Academy will unite the worlds of music and politics at the annual GRAMMYs on the Hill® Awards. The Awards will honor Tony- and Emmy Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth for her philanthropic contributions to the music community and four-time GRAMMY®-winning gospel artist Yolanda Adams for her advocacy on behalf of fellow creators. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) will also be honored for their contributions to advance music creators' rights and support legislation that protects the future of music.

Macklemore To Be Honored At 2019 MusiCares Concert For Recovery


MusiCares®, an affiliated charity of the Recording Academy, announced today that the 2019 MusiCares Concert For Recovery will honor multi-GRAMMY® winnerMacklemore on Thursday, May 16 at The Novo at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Macklemore will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in recognition of his significant dedication to and support of MusiCares and his commitment to helping others in the addiction recovery process. The Concert For Recovery will feature Joel McHale as the host. The evening will also present a tribute to Mac Miller, and will close with a special performance by Macklemore.Additional performers will be announced shortly.

Little Big Town To Host MusiCares Dolly Parton Tribute


Multi-GRAMMY®-winning artists and current GRAMMY nominees Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town have been announced as hosts of the 2019 MusiCares®Person of the Year tribute concert honoring Dolly Parton on Feb. 8. GRAMMY winner Yolanda Adams, current GRAMMY nominee Jon Batiste, past GRAMMY nominee Cam, current GRAMMY nominee Brandi Carlile, GRAMMY winner Jennifer Nettles, and current GRAMMY nominee Margo Price will join the performance lineup at the star-studded annual fundraiser for MusiCares, the signature health and human services charity founded by the Recording Academy. Previously announced performers include Leon Bridges, Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood, Miley Cyrus, Lauren Daigle, Vince Gill, Don Henley, Norah Jones, Shawn Mendes, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Katy Perry, Linda Perry, P!NK, Mark Ronson, Mavis Staples, and Chris Stapleton. GRAMMY winner Dolly Partonwill close the evening's performances. Greg Phillinganes will be the musical director.

En Vogue and TLC To Headline The 2019 GRAMMY Celebration


Past GRAMMY® nominees En Vogue and four-time GRAMMY winners TLC are scheduled to perform at the exclusive 2019 GRAMMY Celebration®—the Recording Academy's official after-party following the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards® on Feb. 10. The Celebration will also feature a performance by GRAMMY-winner Kurt Elling and a DJ set by Michelle Pesce. One of the year's most anticipated events, attracting GRAMMY winners, nominees, industry executives, and celebrities, the 2019 GRAMMY Celebration will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center immediately following the GRAMMY Awards.

Continuing its ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating timeless recordings, the Recording Academy has announced the newest inductions to its distinguished GRAMMY Hall Of Fame®. The latest additions recognize a diverse range of both singles and album recordings at least 25 years old that exhibit qualitative or historical significance. Each year recordings are reviewed by a special member committee comprised of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts, with final approval by the Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees. With 25 new titles, the Hall, now in its 46th year, currently totals 1,088 recordings and is on display at The GRAMMY Museum.

MusiCares And Facing Addiction With NCADD Announce Teens Make Music Contest Winners
