BPA Theatre School has resumed programming, and is now accepting enrollments for four online summer classes for students, ages 8 a?" 19.

Presented to a young adult under the age of 35, who is or has been an island resident, the Amy Award annually recognizes those who have compiled a body of work in the visual or performing arts, and whose work demonstrates a sense of quality, creativity, exploration and dedication. In recognition of her award-winning original work, dedication, and potential, Bainbridge Performing Arts has named Keiko Green the recipient of the 2018 Amy Award for Emerging Artists. Keiko will be honored at an event at BPA later this spring.

Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) is pleased to welcome Pete Benson as Director of Education. Moving to Los Angeles this May, outgoing Director of Education Liz Ellis will pass the baton to Pete, who is thrilled to step in to lead BPA's thriving Theatre Education Program for children, teens, and adults. Pete is eager to help BPA Theatre School students flourish, and he'll join us beginning March 26.

BPA Theatre School's Winter Showcase features two plays for the price of one! Younger students are showcased in the annual Bainbridge to Broadway student musical revue and students from BPA's Teen Intensive program will perform Tom Stoppard's now-classic Fifteen Minute Hamlet.

Join us for BPA Theatre School's Spring Send-Off 2017 - a festive annual showcase bursting with theatrical attractions. Enjoy two short plays for the price of one. Performances will begin with the 2nd -8th grade productions of tales from Hugh Lofting's series on Doctor Doolittle, and end with an original work devised by Teen Intensive students to showcase their talents!

Inspiring the kind of creativity, grace, and empathy that enrich every aspect of life, BPA Theatre School's spring camps and classes for Pre-K through Adult yield artistic benefits for both hobbyists and career actors.

Tony Award-winning actress Dinah Manoff is teaching The Actor's Tool Belt, a rotational series of classes through BPA Theatre School. Manoff brings over 30 years of experience acting, directing, and casting to the six-hour monthly workshops, which also offer a great schedule for those who don't have time to commit to a weekly class. Workshops encompass a range of instruction, from developing basic acting skills to selecting appropriate material for auditions.

The nominations for the 8th Annual Indie Series Awards were revealed on Wednesday, February 1. The ISAs celebrate the best in independently produced scripted entertainment created for the Web. Nominations were announced in 29 categories.

BPA Theatre School's Fall Play Festival features two daring adventure stories: The 2nd - 5th grade production, Baron Munchausen, highlights just a few of the very tall tales supposedly told by the Bavarian commander. The 5th - 8th grade production, Tales of the Heroine Atalanta, will feature the three major legends of ancient Greece in which the famed Huntress played a crucial role. Recognizable characters like Heracles, Theseus, Jason, and more will appear, and trips will be taken from Siberia to Ceylon to the moon! The evening's festivities will also include Shakespearean monologues from BPA Theatre School's Teen Intensive students.

BPA Theatre School opens registration for the Fall 2016 Quarter, with enrollment beginning August 19.
