Within the black box confines at NextStop Theatre Company you can find what I would call one of the best family events of the year: Matilda The Musical. Matilda follows the original Roald Dahl story turned movie premise of a young girl with a love for reading and amazing super powers. Together with fun music, creative technical aspects, and amazing choreography, it's sure to entertain.

Leapin' Lizards! Reston Community Players welcomes everyone's favorite orphan as it concludes its 52nd season with the classic family musical Annie. The beloved story of the tough orphan, her search for her parents and her chance encounter with a New York she's never known runs April 26-May 18 at the Reston Community Center.

Even if you haven't seen the original film, the musical is still a fun ride. Despite some missteps, NextStop Theatre Company's new production is an undeniably good time, thanks in large part to some winning lead performances.

Loosely based on the memoirs of the famous striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee, Gypsy focuses on the story of her mother, Rose, called "the ultimate stage mother."
