Ogunquit Playhouse is growing its educational initiatives by launching the Arts Academy. Already an integral component of the Playhouse's mission, the educational initiatives currently in place will be greatly expanded to build upon the legacy left by founder Walter Hartwig, a strong proponent of community theater with a passion for teaching theater craft to aspiring professionals.
Ogunquit Playhouse is launching the Arts Academy program with the belief that theater is a profound tool for students to not only exercise their imagination but to discover their innate skill set.
Sierra Repertory Theatre is proud to continue bringing professional arts education to Tuolumne County in its 2018 Season. This year SRT Jr. will present three youth workshop productions, including Disney's Beauty a nd the Beast jr. All SRT Jr. Workshops are lead by qualified professional actors and educators. This year, SRT Jr. Workshops will be directed by local favorite Randi Linee, wh o will also be playing the role of Mrs. Potts in SRT's Mainstage production of Di sney's Beauty and the Beast ! Circle House, which opened Friday, April 27, is the newest production from The Plagiarists, a return to a group-writing style that is rather uniquely theirs. Company member and lead playwright Jessica Wright Buha organized a group of writers and artists into multiple writing sessions over several months, exploring both the cyclical nature and unsteadiness of nature and life. From there the script was developed by Buha and her team, then masterfully tackled by the sure and sensitive hand of director Kate Nawrocki.
