This is an auspicious year for John Chatterton and the Midtown International Theatre Festival. MITF is now the OLDEST CONTINUING THEATRE FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK! John Chatterton has set the gold standard for presenting new and exciting independent theatrical works in NYC. This year's special festival brings more than 100 productions to Manhattan - as well as an astounding number of international works. The 18th Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival once again proves itself to be one of the best reasons to stay in New York in July!

BEEHIVE is a musical so jam-packed with hits that it's almost overwhelming.  Though this show is not a traditional musical so much as it's a musical revue, there is a nice loose plot running through the whole production that serves to give the songs political and social context and really drive home how tumultuous the 1960s were and how dramatically different the early part of the decade was from the end of it.  The cast of seven women start out as young adults, and then as the time of the songs passes, they grow up, learn more about the world, and channel that knowledge back into the music.  It's a fun night of nostalgia, but also one that doesn't completely sugarcoat the problems of the past.

I have been a fan of Music Theatre of Connecticut for a while now, so when I entered their Melissa & Doug theater on opening night of Little Shop of Horrors, I was looking forward to a wonderful evening with this classic piece of musical theatre.

Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's award-winning professional theatre company, concludes its 2014/2015 season with 'Little Shop of Horrors' the hit rock musical comedy about a hapless florist shop worker, the girl of his dreams and one very voracious plant.
