The Danish String Quartet has established a reputation for possessing an integrated sound, impeccable intonation and judicious balance.  With their technical and interpretive talents matched by an infectious joy for music-making and 'rampaging energy' (The New Yorker), the quartet has been acclaimed as one of the 'best quartets before the public today' (Washington Post).  Since making their debut in 2002 at the Copenhagen Festival, this group of musical friends has demonstrated a passion for Scandinavian composers, who they frequently incorporate into adventurous programs, while also proving skilled and profound performers of the classical masters. The ensemble's Meany Hall performance will be their first in Seattle.

The Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC) has announced the 2015 / 2016, 25th Anniversary Season, which will feature a world premiere play by Purple Rose Founder, Emmy Award- winning actor & award-winning playwright, Jeff Daniels, a world premiere by PRTC Associate Artist, silverscreen & television sensation, Matt Letscher, and a Purple Rose take on two beloved classic comedies. The theatre company's 25th professional season will include: The Casting Session by Jeff Daniels, The Odd Couple by Neil Simon, Gaps in the Fossil Record by Matt Letscher, and Morning's At Seven by Paul Osborn. 

Performance Network to Present OTHER DESERT CITIES, 6/11-7/12


Performance Network of Ann Arbor will present O?ther Desert Cities?by Jon Robin Baitz June 11­July 12 completing a long delayed co­production with the Jewish Ensemble Theatre. The production garnered rave reviews and near sell out crowds during its West Bloomfield run and tickets are now on sale for the Network production. Directed by David Wolber and co­sponsored by Detroit sports and entertainment executive, Tom Wilson, O?ther Desert Cities?is the story of a wounded family and the secrets they share. It is the final main stage production in the Network's inaugural season under the new management of John Manfredi and Suzi Regan. The cast remains the same as at the JET and features the talents of Leah Smith, Naz Edwards, Hugh Maguire, Sandra Birch and Bryan Lark. Performances run Thursday­Sunday (Preview is Thursday, June 11; Opening Night is Friday, June 12) and tickets range in price from $25 to $41. The Old Globe is delighted to welcome one of the true geniuses of the American theatre, Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, who makes her long-awaited San Diego directing debut with an enchanting theatrical spectacle with live music and sumptuous visuals, The White Snake, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. The Southern California Premiere of The White Snake, written and directed by Zimmerman, will run now through April 26 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Opening night is tonight, March 26 at 8:00 p.m.
