Essential Voices USA, Judith Clurman, Music Director and Conductor, announces the release of CHRISTMAS JOY, a new collection of holiday music that was all recently commissioned by Essential Voices USA.

Mabou Mines and Weathervane Productions, in association with Philip Glass’ Days and Nights Festival, will present a return engagement of their acclaimed revival of Mud/Drowning, two intimate works by legendary playwright and director María Irene Fornés.

On Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim will present a virtual program featuring premieres of two new works related to composer Lisa Bielawa's ongoing project, Broadcast from Home, a significant new musical work launched by Bielawa in April 2020, which creates community during the isolation of the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis by featuring contributions from the public.

On Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim will present a virtual program featuring premieres of two new commissions related to composer Lisa Bielawa's ongoing project, Broadcast from Home, a significant new musical work launched by Bielawa in April 2020.

LA BELLE ET LA B TE is a post World War II romantic fantasy film written and directed by Jean Cocteau. For the Los Angeles Opera version, Philip Glass replaced Georges Auric's original sound track with a complete opera score. On October 28, 2017, L. A. Opera presented the work, sung live and coordinated with a screening of the film, at the beautifully restored 1920s movie theater in the city's Ace Hotel.
