Grant Lashley BIO

Studied singing, dancing, acting at Imperial Studios in Palm Beach. Moved to NY City 1960 to score in first B'Way musical, "Carnival", 1961. I next toured in the national company as understudy to Marco the Magnificent. Next came "What Makes Sammy Run", understudying Tracy Clark, second understudy to Steve Lawarence. Then came "Illya Darling" with Mellina Mercuri, as lead dancer. "Man of La Mancha" followed first in the original broadway show, with Richard Kiley, then the national company with Jose Ferrar as Tenorio. Lastly I got "Indians" with Stacy Keach but resigned within 2 weeks to become a set designer and builder in commercials. Broadway was changing big time and I did'nt like where it was going. I'd like to invite you to go to Google and type in Grant Lashley-Many Years/Meany Talents to get the bigger picture. That is enough for now, God bless. Grant
P.S. I did lots of summer and winter stock between the above shows, a night club act, voice overs, stunt work and some directing.
