MTI Presents Junior Theater Celebrations In Australia And New Zealand

Music Theatre International (MTI) Australasia in collaboration with AMICI Trust (New Zealand), OzTheatrics (Australia), and iTheatrics (New York), are presenting Junior Theater CelebrationsTM in New Zealand and Australia for thousands of musical theatre obsessed students ages 7-18. JTC New Zealand is being held at The Victory Centre in Auckland on September 13-14. JTC Australia will be held at The Civic Theatre in Newcastle on September 20-21. This is New Zealand's third annual Junior Theatre Celebration and Australia's fourth annual event.

Eight Outstanding Teachers Selected For Tenth Annual Freddie G Fellowship

Eight outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the U.S. will work one-on-one with Broadway greats at the 10th Annual FREDDIE G FELLOWSHIP July 10th - 13th.  The event is underwritten by Freddie ('G') Gershon, Co-Chairman of the global theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI), his wife Myrna and MTI. The four days of classes and activities honor instructors and teachers who are working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups. In addition to the all-expense paid visit to New York, each of the teachers' schools receives $5,000 from Freddie and Myrna. The teachers are empowered to identify and select how their respective school's theatre program can best utilize the funds.

Seize the Day! MTI to Workshop NEWSIES JR. in Australia this Summer

Music Theatre International has announced the pilot launch of Newsies Jr, a 60-minute condensed adaptation of the 2012 Tony-award winning musical. The workshop, featuring a group of 40 students, will take place as part of Australia's Junior Theatre Celebration in October.

Blumenthal Performing Arts to Host Broadway Junior Theater Celebration Next Week

Blumenthal Performing Arts' annual Broadway Junior Theater Celebration, which has taken place each spring for 9 years, will bring 44 elementary and middle school groups from seven counties, totaling 2,199 students and teachers, to Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (April 19- 21).

Music Theatre International Chairman and CEO Freddie Gershon and his wife Myrna hosted eight outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the country for four days of classes and activities honoring them for working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups.  The event known as the 6th Annual FREDDIE G FELLOWSHIP culminated in a gala dinner at Chez Josephine on July 11th.  Joining the festivities were Broadway greats Bernadette Peters and Brian d'Arcy James. More Than 1500 Students Set for Blumenthal Performing Arts' 2014 Broadway Junior Theater Celebration, 4/7-9

Excitement and pride will soon fill the air when more than 1500 students from 43 elementary and middle schools across the area participate in Blumenthal Performing Arts' annual Broadway Junior Theater Celebration over the course of three days, April 7-9.

Due to the success of the 2011 Junior Theater Festival Spring Intensive and the feedback from its participants, it was announced by Nick Manos, President of Theater of the Stars and Tim McDonald, Founding Chairman of iTheatrics that the Junior Theater Festival Spring Intensives will become an annual event. The 2nd Junior Theater Festival Spring Student Intensive will take place this month at Whitefield Academy.

Junior Theater Fest Renamed 'The FreddieG's' in Honor of Freddie Gershon

The Junior Theatre Fest will pay tribute to the leadership and dedication of Music Theatre International (MTI) Chairman Freddie Gershon by renaming its annual student awards for excellence in theater 'The FreddieG's.' In 1995, he created MTI Education, the first educational division in a major musical theater licensing firm, which over the past 15 years has literally transformed the marketplace for age appropriate performance material for young performers. During this year's festival, taking place January 15-17, composer Stephen Schwartz ('Wicked') will be on hand to celebrate Gershon's accomplishments within musical theatre.

Imaginations will soar, hearts will dance and applause will thunder when more than 1,500 students, teachers, and Broadway professionals raise their voices in celebration of on-stage and backstage excellence in musical theater at the 2010 Junior Theater Festival, it was announced today by Timothy A. McDonald, Founding Chairman of iTheatrics and Nick Manos, President of Atlanta's Theater of the Stars. The Junior Theater Festival is the world's largest musical theater festival dedicated to groups working with elementary and middle school students and is presented by Music Theatre International and is hosted and produced by iTheatrics and Atlanta's Theater of the Stars. The 2010 Festival will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA on January 15-17, 2010.
