Celebrating the centennial of Alan Jay Lerner. The York Theatre Company continues the 25th Anniversary of its acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series celebrating the work of the legendary librettist and lyricist Alan Jay Lerner, whose hundredth birthday was August 31, 2018.

Producers R. Erin Craig, Daniel Wallace and Trish Whitehurst just announced the new musical AUSTEN'S PRIDE will receive a staged reading presentation on Friday, October 19 at 1:30pm and Monday, October 22 at 12:00pm. AUSTEN'S PRIDE features a book, music and lyrics by Lindsay Warren Baker and Amanda Jacobs; music supervision by Kevin Stites; music direction and dance arrangements by Greg Jarrett; choreography by Andrew Palermo; and direction by Igor Goldin.

Sizzling with incredible talent and energy, and moving at a brisk pace, Virginia Repertory Theatre's first-rate production breathes new life into the classic tale of star-crossed lovers. West Side Story runs through July 29 at the November Theatre.

Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of West Side Story on Friday June 22, 2018 at the November Theatre/Arenstein Stage, 114 West Broad Street. The show will run through July 29, 2018.  Previews will be on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21, 2018. With a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by legendary Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim, this classic musical retelling of Romeo and Juliet is set against the backdrop of New York's Hell's Kitchen in the 1950's.

Conceived, originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, this nine-time Tony Award winning Broadway musical boasts a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. Performances of CRT's production will be held at the Little York Pavilion in Preble, and run from July 13 - 30 with evening performances at 7:30. Performances of this stirring and exciting show will run from June 22 - July 9 with evening performances at 7:30.

Nate Miller and Kylan Ritchie will play one set of children, while Riley Jenkins and Virginia Richardson will double during the run of the show.

You may wonder why the Ocean Professional Theatre Company's holiday offering EBENEZER is being presented in an Atlantic City casino showroom. This charming 350-seat theatre is one of the oldest performance spaces in Atlantic City, dating back to 1912. The Screening Room is a jewel box setting in which to present one of the holiday's most enduring classics. This sort of family-driven entertainment is exactly what Atlantic City sorely needs at the moment.

Broadway veteran Mitzi Hamilton, one of the dancers inMichael Bennett's original developmental workshop that provided the inspiration for the character of Val in A Chorus Line, directs and choreographs the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical at Surflight Theatre, now playing through September 14.

It seems right that Surflight Theatre closes it's 2014 season with A CHORUS LINE. After 65 years as a New Jersey theatrical institution, Surflight must have hosted hundreds of such auditions, giving that first 'big break' to scores of performers.
