Anna Strasberg, actress and widow of acting coach Lee Strasberg, died at age 84. She also served as co-founder of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Ms. Strasberg also ended up inheriting a portion of Marilyn Monroe's estate, which was left to her late husband. When he died in 1982, the Monroe estate was inherited by Anna. She hired CMG Worldwide to represent Monroe, and the licensing agency generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue and profits from commercial endeavors.

Anna Strasberg, born Anna Mizrahi, came to the U.S. in 1960 from Venezuela, and made her acting debut appearing in the 1965 film Stay Tuned for Terror and on 1966 episodes of Run for Your Life and The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.

She met Lee Strasberg at The Actors Studio. Other credits includes Riot on Sunset Strip (1967) and installments of The Rat Patrol, The Felony Squad and Judd for the Defense.

The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute® (Anna Strasberg, Artistic Director) will host its 50th Anniversary Celebration, “THE NEXT 50 YEARS,” on Monday, November 4, 2019 in the Rosenthal Pavilion overlooking Washington Square Park at New York University (60 Washington Square South). The celebration is a gala benefit for The Lee Strasberg Creative Center®, which has provided scholarships to students for 42 years. The evening will be hosted by Honorary Co-Chairs Alec Baldwin and Marlo Thomas, with Mr. Baldwin making a special award presentation to renowned teacher Geoffrey Horne. The program will also feature appearances by Ellen Burstyn, and Renée Taylor.

The Theatre Artists Workshop in Norwalk will present a staged reading of the Broadway hit 'God of Carnage' by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, on November 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and November 18 at 3 p.m. Theatre Artists Workshop is located at 5 Gregory Boulevard in Norwalk. On Monday, May 13 Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for Theatre honored Ruth and Stephen Hendel and Ming Cho Lee at their Gala Evening. The evening was held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation (172 Norfolk Street) in New York City, cocktails started at 6pm and dinner started at 7pm. Jessica Hecht was the emcee of the evening; the Gala co-chairs were playwright Lydia R. Diamond and interior designer Jasmine M. Keller. The Gala honorary chairs were Anne Kaufman, Obie award-winning director; Nelle Nugent, Broadway producer; Judith O. Rialto Chatter: DRACULA To Close This Weekend?

It looks like off-Broadway's DRACULA, playing at the Little Shubert might have a shorter run than originally announced. The show, which just opened on January 5, was originally scheduled to close on March 13. Now, after speculation in the NY Post this morning about an early end for the revival, Telecharge.com is only offering tickets for the show through January 9.

Count Dracula, the world's most famous vampire, returns to the New York stage this fall in DRACULA by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston, based on the eponymous novel by Bram Stoker, opened January 5 at the Little Shubert Theatre (442 West 42nd Street). Paul Alexander directs the production, which began previews December 14. Based on the world-famous novel by Bram Stoker, DRACULA is the classic Gothic drama about the power of seduction and the nature of true love.
