KVPAC's Encore Players present Waiting for Godot next month, an award-winning two-act play by Irish writer Samuel Beckett and directed by Morgan Midkiff. Hailed by many as the most significant English language play of the 20th century, Beckett's masterpiece is without a doubt the most prominent work of the 'Theatre of the Absurd,' a dramatic body of work largely defined by the characteristic traits of Godot.

The Importance of Being Earnest, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People, is considered Oscar Wilde's best work. It has been making audiences laugh since it debuted in London in 1895. With hilarious farce and witty dialogue, this exhilarating masterpiece is a true crowd pleaser. Luckily for Katy, this eternally popular play is coming to Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) this month from Encore Players!

ou gotta love baseball! It is the all American game, filled with tradition, camaraderie and just plain fun. Rounding Third, the Odd Couple with a baseball background by Richard Dresser, holds us by the proverbial jersey collar on this tumultuous journey of two Little League coaches through an entire season, from their first tentative meeting to the climactic championship game.

Katy Visual & Performing Art Center's Encore Players gave it their all in their final performance of The Diary of Anne Frank on Sunday afternoon. The play, directed by Tina Morille, along with Assistant Director Jordan Morille, was, in Morille's words 'about real people, during a real time in history, being forced to undergo real feelings and raw emotion in a literal and metaphorical cramped space.'

Directed by Tina Morille, this Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play will run two weekends, February 11-13 and 18-20, 2011. All shows will begin at 8:00pm, except for Sunday's performances which are matinees and will begin at 2:00pm.

Presented this weekend, July 16 & 17 at 8:00pm and on July 18 at 2:00pm, is Encore Players first musical review, Broadway, Then & Now ... An Evening of our Broadway Favorites. The show promises a mix of some unforgettable stage moments from the Great White Way, as well as a bevy of songs from famous productions that have toured cities all over the country. 'Travel, places and emotional journeys are all underlining themes that tie the shows eclectic song list together, making it a stunning collaboration of fine music,' explains Lisa Connolly, KVPAC's Marketing Director.
