The Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) is pleased to announce Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and former lead singer of The Wallflowers, Jakob Dylan, will make a special appearance for the film Echo in The Canyon at BIFF's Closing Night on Sunday, March 3 at the Boulder Theater. This special screening of Echo In The Canyon, directed by music-industry veteran Andrew Slater and starring Jakob Dylan, features the sounds of LA's famous Laurel Canyon music scene in the '60s—including music from The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, The Mamas & The Papas and more.

The LA Film Festival, produced by Film Independent, announced the winners of the 2018 Festival at the Awards Reception at the W Hotel in Hollywood presided over by Festival Director Jennifer Cochis and Film Independent President Josh Welsh. Cochis and Welsh also took the opportunity to thank the more than 50 generous sponsors, funders and media partners without whom the Festival would not be possible.

You don't have to look very far in selfie-taking 2017 for an equivalent to the narcissism and aestheticism that are so thoroughly sent up in Gilbert and Sullivan's 1881 Patience. So perhaps it's best that director Liam Steel has left all that to look after itself, and instead of a topical satire has produced an unapologetic period romp, with just a few too many smutty moments for complete comfort.

The Off-Broadway production of The Long Shrift, written by Robert Boswell and directed by James Franco, opened last night at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. The Long Shirt began previews on July 7th and will run through August 23rd. This play is James Franco's directing debut. piece by piece productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater present the world premiere of A Fable, written by David Van Asselt and directed by Daniel Talbott, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. The opening night is set for tonight, May 22 at 7pm. A Fable is scheduled to run through Saturday, June 28.
