Milagro, the Northwest's premier Latino arts and culture organization announces Season 35: Fantasy, Fairy Tales, and Folklore, featuring Milagro's annual Dia de Muertos celebration, three additional world premieres-including a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere, a national touring production, and the U.S. premiere of a Spanish-language play from Costa Rica! It is a season of stories of fantastical creatures, great heroes and heroines, mystical monsters, magical beings, and spirits from another world.

The Latinx Theatre Commons (LTC), an active initiative of HowlRound Theatre Commons, based at Emerson College, celebrates the completion of a successful first year of the El Fuego initiative during the 2016-17 season and has announced its continuation for two more seasons through 2018-2019.

MILAGRO has announced the theme and productions of Season 34. Rise UP will be a passionate, narrative journey, rich in expression and consequence, exploring the power of the human spirit to overcome threats to life, identity, status, hope, and justice.

Amidst the backdrop of urban Latin hip hop music, rhyme, and choreography, Broken Promises reveals the shocking truth of how quickly and easily teens are ensnared in the world of sex trafficking.  Desperate for money, four teens living on the edge gamble their lives on internet porn and prostitution.  Before they know it, they are trapped in a life from which they cannot escape, or can they?

This original work, created in collaboration with Planned Parenthood, is based on the true life stories of teen girls who are lured into prostitution. Producing three world premieres, hosting a multicultural festival for children, and recruiting Latino guest artists from all corners of the U.S., these plans are only the beginning.

This year, La Luna Nueva illuminates the great diversity of our region, by including local culturally specific artists with a line-up specially designed for kids and families.

Since its creation in 2008, La Luna Nueva festival has opened the doors to local and international Latino artists of multiple disciplines to present and promote the wide and diverse spectrum of vibrant, multinational and pan-ethnic Latino art and cultural expressions like no other festival in the Pacific Northwest!
