The world-premiere new musical, "Wicked Frozen! A Musical Parody Mashup of 'Wicked' and 'Frozen' Written by Two People Who Have Never Seen 'Wicked' or 'Frozen'" will be presented this weekend at the 2014 West Village Musical Theatre Festival. The WVMTF takes place through June 29th at The Player's Theater.

"Wicked Frozen" is an original short musical mashup based on what creators Toby and Zoe think "Wicked" and "Frozen" might be about-without ever having seen either one. The action takes place in the mythical Scandi-Nor-Finland. Two witch-princess sisters, Elsaba and Glindanna, go to princess magic school for royal people, where they must learn to control their ice powers. Can the sisters learn to work together? Will the beautiful but aloof Prince Ikea come to their rescue? What actually happens when Elsaba takes that glove thing off?

"Wicked Frozen!" was conceived and written by Zoe Farmingdale (book, lyrics) and Toby Singer (music, lyrics), whose previous collaborations include the full-length musical "Nina in New York", and music for "The Zoeshow" (The People's Improv Theatre, 2014). Zoe's previous writing credits include the musicals "Preschool! A Pint-Sized Musical" (WVMTF 2012, created with Teresa Bayer) and "Life is A Dream: A Fairy-Tale For Adults, For Kids!" (adaptation commissioned by The Tank, 2011); as well as music for "The Zoeshow", and various short plays commissioned by aMios Theatre Company. Toby's previous writing credits include the musical "South Hall", music for new musical "Gruff" (Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre 2014), and the 2013-released album "Here Comes Saturn."

The production is directed by Rachel Wynne with musical direction by Toby Singer, and features the ensemble cast of Antonevia Ocho-Coultes, Bethany Nicole Taylor, Jocelyne O'Toole, Kathleen Armenti, Marcus Crawford Guy, Meagan Wells, and Zoe Farmingdale.

"Wicked Frozen" is part of WVMTF Series D, which has two more performances at The Player's Theatre: Friday, June 27th at 6pm, and Sunday, June 29th at 2pm. Tickets range from $20-$30 and can be obtained through www.wvmtf.com by clicking on the link for tickets, or purchased at the door. For updates and extras, follow WICKED FROZEN on Facebook!
