The New York Theatre Festival special event production of the new musical Really Bad Things, starring Catherine LeFrere, Kevin Kraft, Robert J. Townsend and Mike Backes, begins performances July 12 at 4:30pm at the PTC Performance Space.

Nick Messitte authored music and lyrics to the musical and Marc Eardley directs the July 12-19 run.

The cast includes LeFrere, Kraft (Forum), Townsend and Backes (Vegas' Jersey Boys) as well as Vanessa Dunleavy, Suzanne Dressler, Curtis Howard, Max Chernin, Christine Howard and Lisa Fiebert.

Here's how the musical is billed: "Have you heard? Really Bad Things are happening in Washington D.C.! A Lobbyist is blissfully engaged in indecent activities…while a conservative Senator tries to hide his desire for hookers and diapers…and a Georgetown Madam is operating an escort service with a client list that includes Ambassadors, Congressmen and…even-more-powerful others? Could it be all three are connected? Really? A musical tale of power, sex and greed in our nation’s capital!"

Leasen Almquist choreographs with musical direction by Nathan Siler.

The production has costume design by Pia Fleischmann and lighting design by Ryan Metzler. Production Stage Manager is Caitlin Lyons.

Performances are scheduled for July 12 at 4:30 PM, July 13 at 10:30 PM and July 19 at 4:30 PM.

Tickets, priced $20, are still available by calling Ovationtix at (212) 352-3101 or by visiting www.nymf.org. The PTC Performance Space is located at 555 West 42nd Street.
