LONG WHARF THEATRE HOLDS LOCAL EQUITY AND NON-EQUITY AUDITIONS THIS SEPTEMBER
NEW HAVEN – Long Wharf Theatre is holding open auditions for Equity and non-Equity actors this month.
Local EQUITY actors, ages 18+, are invited to audition for the 2012/2013 Season at the Tony Award-winning Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT. Actors will be seen at the theater from 10:00am to 1:30pm and 2:30pm to 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 18, and Thursday, September 20.
Local NON-EQUITY actors will be seen at the theatre from 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Wednesday, September 19.
Actors should prepare one classical monologue and one contemporary monologue, not to exceed three minutes in combined length. All actors should bring a current resume and headshot. While walk-ins will be accommodated, appointments are recommended and may be made beginning today by calling the Long Wharf Box Office

1. Because Long Wharf holds auditions in NYC for each production, we are especially seeking actors with access to local housing at this call.

JANUARY JOINER. By Laura Jacqmin.
Director: Eric Ting
1st rehearsal: December 11, 2012. Runs: January 9, 2013 – February 10, 2013.
Seeking:
Myrtle - 30’s. An overweight woman who also happens to be very pretty. Has an office job in NYC. Easily hurt.
Terry - Myrtle’s sister. Also 30’s, but 2-3 years older than Myrtle. Heavier than Myrtle, and very aware of it. Probably an office manager in a small city in Ohio: Akron or Toledo, probably.
April - late 20’s/early 30’s. Any ethnicity. Boot camp coach. More skinny than athletic: she’s technically a “skinny fat person,” and hates it. If she was a guy, people would call her a hard-ass, but she’s not, so they call her a bitch. Good at her job.
Brian - late 20’s/early 30’s. Any ethnicity. Boot camp coach. That incredibly gorgeous guy who everyone simultaneously wants to be around and is afraid to be around. Probably on the muscle-bound side as opposed to the slim side. Not the sharpest nail in the box, but not dumb. Good at his job.
Not-Terry - she’s not Terry. Any ethnicity: should be different than Terry’s. Also 30’s. Thinner than Terry or Myrtle, but still not thin. More comfortable with herself. Also plays the HOLY-SHIT-GHOST.
