One of Europe’s most exciting string quartets comes to New Zealand for the first time.
The Kelemen Quartet has developed a worldwide following since winning the Musica Viva Grand Prize at the 2011 Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. Led by Barnabás Kelemen, the quartet is a family affair, featuring Kelemen’s wife, her sister and a fellow colleague at the Liszt Academy. The Quartet will present a programme that pairs Haydn and Mozart with Bartók and the great Hungarian modernist Ligeti.
