Teaneck Festival will feature salute to veterans, blueberry pie (with whipped cream) eating competitions for kids, performances by Teaneck Community Chorus and Rock 'n Roll Chorus, and awards ceremony honoring outstanding New Jersey community organizations and people who have excelled in their chosen fields of expertise.

Community activist Angelae Wilkerson will head a distinguished list of honorees at this year's Cedar Lane Management Group's annual Family Festival on Memorial Day, May 29, from 11 AM to 6 PM, on Cedar Lane between American Legion Drive and Elm Avenue in Teaneck, NJ. She will receive the second annual Lizette Parker Award named for the late Teaneck Mayor who passed away in 2016 after being elected in 2014 as the first African-American woman in Bergen County to serve as a Mayor.

The other honorees are: Judy Distler, Teaneck International Film Festival co-founder; Jonathan D. Salant, Washington, DC Correspondent for NJ Advance Media; Nachum Segal, Host, "JM in the AM" radio program; Newark-born jazz legend Antoinette Montague; Stuart Kahan, co-owner of Ma'adan Catering (446 Cedar Lane); Dr. Ardie D. Walser, President of the Teaneck Board of Education; The Hawthorne Caballeros Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps (Paul Bongiovi, Director); and Rev. Robert Shearer & St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Teaneck.
