Next season the Dutch public can finally go again enjoy the wonderful performance of the majestic masterpiece Carmina Burana. The 'piece de resistance' is performed by The New Romanian Symphonic Orchestra & Choir / State filharmonic Banatul Timisoara & Choir - with soloists, led by conductor Raymond Janssen. The company of 135 people only consists of young talents from Staatsphilharmonie Banatul Timisoara and cum laude graduate soloists, these are supplemented by internationally renowned soloists.
Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata for soprano, tenor, baritone, chorus and large orchestra, written specifically for an extensive special section percussion instruments. Both the lyrics and the exceptional orchestration of Carmina Burana are extremely interesting and rich in humor. The prologue, the magisterial choral Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi, is also the final chorus, making the circle.
