MARIUS ET FANNY, A piece of Marcel Pagnol, will play the Theatre du Rideau Vert, January 29 to February 23, 2013. Staging is by Normand Chouinard with assistance in staging by Maude Bety.

Marseille under the sun of the late '20s, Marius, Caesar's son, owner of "Bar de la Marine", and Fanny, daughter of fishmonger Honorine, secretly live the excitement of first love. But Marius who dreams of distant lands since childhood, can not be resolved to spend his life behind the bar counter of his father and finally yielded to the call of the sea Months pass and distress caused by the departure of Marius fades gradually. Around Fanny and César, consumed by grief, friendships tighten and gently takes the daily rhythm in the Old Port of Marseille. With the melodious language of southern France, Marcel Pagnol tells a wonderful story of family and love. major work of French drama, Marseilles Trilogy written by Marcel Pagnol around 1930, consists of three distinct components: Marius , Fanny and César . The three parts of the trilogy have been several lives since all three have been brought to the big screen repeatedly. In Quebec, the last production of Marius and Fanny in 1993, was a resounding success as Denise Filiatrault ensured its staging. This time, it was Normand Chouinard will take the helm of the staging. This artist well known for his many roles in television, film and theater, is dedicated more to the stage. With his innate sense of comedy and high sensitivity, it will lead a massive distribution of ten actors among which are his accomplice Rémy Girard, in the role of Caesar.
