A rare opportunity for theatre lovers, Ain't Misbehavin' co-creator and veteran radio broadcaster Murray Horwitz will join Director of Opera at McGill University, Patrick Hansen, for an intimate pre-show talk today, September 29th at 11:00 a.m. Sunday @ The Segal is part of the Segal Centre's SEGAL + Public Programs. ENTRANCE IS FREE.

About Murray Horwitz: Hailing from Washington, DC, Murray Horwitz's accomplishments in the performing arts include authoring the hit Broadway musical Ain't Misbehavin', originating the hit NPR comedy quiz, Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me, and writing the song lyrics for John Harbison's The Great Gatsbyat the Metropolitan Opera. His other playwriting credits include Sole Sisters at LaMama E.T.C., Hard Sell at the N.Y. Shakespeare Festival, andRFK - The Journey to Justice for L.A. Theatreworks. The winner of three Peabody Awards, numerous ASCAP songwriting awards, Tony, Obie, and N.Y. Drama Critics Circle awards (for Ain't Misbehavin'), the National Medal of Arts from President Clinton (for NPR Cultural Programming), and the Order of Arts and Letters from the government of France, Mr. Horwitz began his career as a clown in the Ringling Bros., Barnum & Bailey Circus. He appears frequently as a commentator on NPR, and as a panelist on U.S. public radio's Says You!

About Patrick Hansen: Patrick Hansen, Director of Opera Studies at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, is a vocal coach, stage director, conductor, and acting teacher. Formerly the Director of Musical Studies for the Young American Artist Program at Glimmerglass Opera, as well as the Director of Artistic Administration for Florida Grand Opera. Mr. Hansen's former students and young artists can now be seen in all of the major operatic houses of the world, including The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Canadian Opera Company, l'Opéra de Montréal, Covent Garden, and La Scala. Mr. Hansen has also been the Music Director for numerous musicals and has been on the music staffs of The Juilliard Opera Center, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Pittsburgh Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Tulsa Opera, Nashville Opera, and Opera Memphis.

Three-time Tony Award-winner Ain't Misbehavin' is a musical tribute to the great jazz pianist Fats Waller and the iconic tunes that defined his era. This sizzling jazz-era musical revue, starring Juno Award-winner Kim Richardson, launches the Segal Centre's 2013-2014 Season. Directed by Roger Peace, in co-production with Copa de Oro Productions and presented by KPMG, Ain't Misbehavin', The Fats Waller Musical Show, runs from September 29th - October 20th, 2013.
