In Tandem Theatre is proud to present Art of Murder by Joe DiPietro, author of Over the River and Through the Woods and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.  The regional premiere of this "killer comedy" will run from October 22 to November 7, 2010 at the Tenth Street Theatre, 628 N. 10th Street in Milwaukee. Tickets and information are available by calling 414-271-1371 or online through www.intandemtheatre.org.

Art of Murder, recipient of the 2000 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play, takes a look at the cut-throat world of high art. Annie, a painter herself, provides inspiration for, and stands in The Shadows of, her famous, larger-than-life and overbearing artist husband, Jack. We meet Vincent, their art dealer, who has some shortcomings in the ethics department, and a housekeeper with her hands on more than the dust pan. Murder's on their minds, but just who wants to do what to whom? This clever, dark comedy is both hilarious and hair-raising, producing twists and turns that will keep you guessing 'til the end.

Art of Murder features some of Milwaukee's best talent. Steven Koehler (Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Skylight Opera, Chamber Theatre, Next Act  Theatre) will play Jack. Steven received his MFA in Acting from the UWM Professional Theatre Training Program. In addition to being a working actor in all genres: from musicals to Shakespeare, Steve teaches physics and theatre at the Milwaukee High School of the Arts.

Tiffany Vance makes her home in Platteville, Wisconsin where she teaches theatre courses at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In Milwaukee, she has performed with In Tandem Theatre (Two Rooms, What the Night is For, The Eight Reindeer Monologues), Bialystock and Bloom, First Stage Children's Theatre, and Milwaukee Shakespeare Company. She has also performed with the Colorado and Wisconsin Shakespeare Festivals and Illinois Repertory Theatre. It was at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign that Tiffany received her Master's of Fine Arts degree.

T. Stacy Hicks studied theatre at the North Carolina School of the Arts and spent a season with the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre as an intern. Since then, he has appeared with Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Milwaukee Shakespeare Company, Uprooted Theatre, Renaissance Theatreworks and Youngblood Theatre. Stacy spends his summers as a costume designer, director, actor and instructor with the Bristol Renaissance Faire.

Elizabeth Shipe returns to In Tandem having appeared in last season's musical, The Apple Tree. Originally from Fond du Lac, Liz is currently a student at UW-Milwaukee. As she completes her final classes toward a Musical Theatre degree, Liz has already ventured into the theatre community with roles for Pink Banana Theatre, Carte Blanche Studios, Solar Winds Productions and in the holiday hit, Who Killed Santa? by Neil Haven.

Art of Murder is sponsored in part by the United Performing Arts Fund, CAMPAC (county funding) and the Wisconsin Arts Board.
