Inherit the Wind is a account of the Scopes Monkey Trial, that galvanizing legal drama of the 1920s. When a young Tennessee teacher is prosecuted for teaching the theory of evolution in a public school, he receives unwanted national attention as a clash of two legal giants dominate the courtroom.

For the defense, Henry Drummond , the eloquent defense attorney and Matthew Harrison Brady , the failed presidential candidate (and famed orator) as prosecutor. The verbal fireworks unleashed during the trial sequences are stirring today as they were ninety years ago. “It's not about science versus religion. It's about the right to think."
